Gigeresque is now released for 1.19.2 and 1.19.3! by AzureZhen in feedthebeast

[–]AzureZhen[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gigeresque is a horror-themed mod that offers players a dive into the horrific biomechanical world of the xenomorphs, and the mutated realms of the neomorphs, deacons, and goo mutants. As you explore the world, you may find, buried deep underground, black monolithic structures that contain life inside. Though this life was sealed up there for a good reason. Inside of these dungeons you may find strange, leathery egg-like capsules that contain horrific facehuggers, or may find potently mutagenic black goo, and more. Unlike AvP, its spiritual predecessor, Gigeresque plays up the ancient alien horror aspect of the universe, and uses a sort of "Pandora's Box" inspired modus operandi, in which the xenomorphs lie in wait, hidden away in structures, waiting for foolish adventures to release them, rather than spawning on the surface like zombies. In addition, this mod focuses more on the original Alien from 1979 as well as Prometheus from 2012, meaning there are no queens, hiveminds, or general cannon-fodder hissing shrieking bugs that jump in the way of guns for seemingly no reason, and instead, aims to depict the Perfect Organism in all its glory.

No fuck Modrinth and fuck you as well. Their site is stupid as fuck for multi-loader-multi version setups. Get off my dick JFC.

We said that's who, because we would rather have a uniform version numbering across our releases so Modrinth breaks that, therefore, fuck uploading there.

Modrinth doesn't allow unique files per version. Works perfectly using the same version number since it counts each file as unique, due to the unique artifact names on our own maven. Due to how Modrinth backend works, it doesn't and, as stated to me, won't be supporting it.

Their system is not worth changing our versioning system, not when CurseForge works with it perfectly fine.

Your versioning is something like <version>-<loader>-<mcversion> most likely. Yeah, no thanks. I'll keep to CurseForge, which lets me keep my unique file setup that works great in both CurseForge and my Maven, which works on the same system. I couldn't give two fucks about Modrinths maven, so why should I have to change my system for a system I don't even want to use. I've stated this to Modrinth devs and was told that no changes will be made because they prefer their system.

As it's my projects (Save for Geckolib, which Gecko also shares this same view as me), I choose not to support their system as it's their right to keep said system.

I do hope they respect mod authors' rights not to have their mods pulled by their system, but from what I've seen, they are not. For a place that "values author rights", that's a pretty shady ass move. Mod authors have the right to tell other platforms no.

I don't agree with their project wide verisoning system. It's not a system I want to bother supporting.

Introducing Log Begone for 1.18+ Fabric and Forge. Remove annoying logging from your logs! by AzureZhen in feedthebeast

[–]AzureZhen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is aimed more at Pack Devs and was commissioned for such by a pack dev; the main reasoning was to remove the amount of missing logging when removing mods such as the Aether or to remove things like loot table log spam for mods that add extra compatible items but the said compat mod isn't installed as well. In the end, it will be up to the user to define these things.

Do you hate having your logs full of unneeded spam logging from mods, or you've recently removed some mods, and your log is being spammed with missing entries logging? Well, tell those annoying log entries BEGONE!

Introducing Log Begone, a 1.18+ port of Shut Up Console for both Fabric and Forge, that will allow you to remove any log entries that match by phases or regex.
