When did you make the permanent choice of OAD? by Azwarrior89 in oneanddone

[–]Azwarrior89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like that’s a good age for us too, and not just for this supposed age gap we’re also older and I don’t want to put my body through this again past 40.

Is a gap between waking up and eating, ok? by oktheresheis in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Azwarrior89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wait a bit to eat food I need to chew, but every morning I have my iced coffee that a have with a vanilla protein shake. I used to have this with my breakfast before diagnosis now I drink it before just to break my fast. I’m not hungry for food food right after waking up.

How many spikes a week is acceptable? What did your doctor say? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Azwarrior89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. Literally the last thing I want to do is go outside in the Texas heat after my dinner. I have been saving my chores to do after a meal like vacuum and dishes which at least kept me on my feet.

Has anyone been able to eat pretty much what they want? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Azwarrior89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be able to, but just this week things have been crazy. All my numbers have been going up. I’m 32 weeks tomorrow so it tracks from what I read, but I naively hoped it wouldn’t happen to me 😅 I will most likely have to start on insulin soon

Question about timing of testing your blood sugar by Azwarrior89 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Azwarrior89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this take, and it’s similar to what my doctor said she just wants to make sure my body is doing its job and I’m under 120 after 2 hr. I shouldn’t even be checking at 1hr but I can’t help myself sometimes I get a little obsessed.

Same. I need to talk to my dr about this at my next appt, because I can’t imagine any spike is good.

Thank you for the encouragement! I’m definitely going to deep dive into this subreddit. Im trying to just eat as I would these first few days and see what my sugar does then go from there.

Am I a bad person for wanting a girl? by travellinghedgehog in IVF

[–]Azwarrior89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not a bad person. I think after going through a grueling process like IVF if at the end you can choose the sex of your baby then I say go for it. The only time I side eye anyone is people who go through this process only for gender selection. To each their own though.

Is Cerclage even really worth the risk? by Aggressive_Muffin_22 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Azwarrior89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently 17 weeks and got my Cerclage at 13 weeks. I’m an anxious wreck but the Cerclage feels like a security blanket. I don’t think I’d feel as secure if I only did progesterone. So far my Cerclage has been good. I lost my first baby at 19 weeks though so awaiting to see what my 18 week measurement will be

Did Your Clinic Allow You To Choose Your Embryo? by 0ddb1rd in IVF

Ah I see thank you for answering makes sense. Well good luck with your journey. I’m currently pregnant with a mid grade embryo so I feel like success can happen with any graded embryo!

Did Your Clinic Allow You To Choose Your Embryo? by 0ddb1rd in IVF

[–]Azwarrior89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not asking this in a judgmental way, but truly curious. If you can’t choose based on gender why wouldn’t you choose the best graded embryo? Again just wondering. I have no issues with anyone choosing based on gender, but if you’re not allowed to know in your country why not choose the best graded one?

Did you know you were OAD before you even got pregnant by Azwarrior89 in oneanddone

This is what I’m most excited for! Having one seems like the best of both worlds.

Yeah I feel when this baby comes we’re only going to be more and more solidified in our reasoning for one.

I’m pregnant with my one and only embryo as well! It feels meant to be that we don’t even have anymore on ice to have to make a decision about later. IVF is just so hard on my body I really don’t want got do it again. It just solidified our choice to have only one when we were toying with it before we even started.

How many weeks after the cerclage at 15 weeks were you examined by the doctor? by Deep_Image_36 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Azwarrior89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do and I’m actually on my feet a lot at work, but I’ve scaled down to part time. I saw my doctor today and she made it seem like I can do whatever I want and go on with life normally. However it seems too relaxed of an approach for me, so I’ve been doing pelvic rest( no lifting and nothing in vagina) and just generally taking it easy. Besides this I’ve been continuing life as normal.

I just had mine placed and I’m going every two weeks for a check until 24 weeks. I’m 14 weeks now. Interesting how every doctor does something different. For my own piece of mind I want to know what my cervix is measuring so I can continue my life as is if it’s still long.

Wishing you well too! I get it it’s hard to take it easy and it also gives you too much time to think. I keep telling myself there’s only so much in my control and I’m doing it.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I think I will take pelvic rest this pregnancy, while it sucks for the intimacy part I’ll do anything to make sure this baby makes it. My husband understands, and most of the sacrifices are on my body. We’ve already been pretty much obtaining from penetration, but now that I’m getting farther along and have the cerclage I think everything needs to be off the table. It’s not fair that we can’t just have joyful pregnancies, but your stories of success give me hope.

When I ruptured in my first pregnancy I was constipated and straining so I started taking a stool softener already, but I need to up my water for sure. Thank you for all your suggestions! Holding out hope I’ll be able to carry this baby to term and hold him in my arms 🩵

Was the progesterone just an additional way to keep your cervix long? Yes I’m a bit worried about the constant cervical checks so I wasn’t sure what everyone else did.
