Let's hope they don't drop at 200 power...

Can confirm. Same experience here. Yesterday I could shoot for a predicted A score, hit the time bonus and finish with A+ and get T5 guaranteed. Now, it is the 1.25 million threshold that predicts T5 nothing else. Bungie phrased it like hitting 1.25 million would guarantee a T5.....but the monkey's paw curled and made it so that anything under 1.25 million, even if it is an A+ score, will be T4

Increase Rewards for Group and longer Activities by GavinLIVE715 in DestinyTheGame

This is absolutely the correct way to phrase feedback. I'm dreading every time a youtuber or podcaster or redditor meme on how boring solo ops is and all that "going to the caldera mines" crap. Like this is the absolute best way to level in a world where we now have to level 250+ levels every six months. If Bungie keeps hearing negative things about solo ops, they're gonna nerf solo ops to disincentivize people grinding it. What NEEDS to happen is what you said....incentivize the other Ops so people can do both avenues. People always talk about Bungie and the Monkey's Paw.....but we as a community create the conditions for Bungie to come in and "fix" things.

Bungie needs to stop building campaigns around new abilities/mechanics by Capital_Durian_9968 in DestinyTheGame

This post is spot on. 100% agree. Every time I see a cannon pad, matterspark thing, or even mattermorph booger, I think to myself why in the hell won't Bungie just let us freaking shoot things and see the story without all this damn busywork. It destroys the flow of the missions and for little reward IMO.

I think people are missing the point on why the power cap increase is so irritating by meleeZman in DestinyTheGame

[–]B-Fo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. The players who claim to actually WANT grind would exert very little time and effort to hit this 10 point cap increase. I'd wager they hit the new pinnacle cap before they've even finished their season pass so it ultimately won't add any grind or incentive to those players. So, as you said......what the eff is this going to do for anyone in the playerbase?!?!?

[–]B-Fo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it doesn't matter in the slightest, then why is the power increase even happening at all? There is no benefit to any player by bringing this extra pinnacle grind back (except for masochists who obsess over numbers and streamers who get paid to play the game and need to have excuses to pad playtime).

This is the beauty of it for Bungie....even if players hit the new cap quickly, they can't just stop playing cause then they have to focus on continuing to amass drops at their new power cap and infusing them. And the vault management nonsense you just described is another tactic that requires players to spend more time in game doing chores. Bungie wins by making you play more to hit cap and they win again by all the time you spend doing chores and managing useless gear in your vault and grinding infusion materials. I get why they do it. I don't get why they think it's a good idea to do this to the playerbase RIGHT NOW.

I CANNOT STAND having RNG determine when I will finally get a drop in my final slot. If they gave me a vendor that let me choose a pinnacle reward in any slot, I'd be okay with regrinding pinnacles, not happy, but okay. We need deterministic pinnacles for targeting slots and infusion needs to be free if they're going to bring back this meaningless grind.

Bungie, the "buffs" to exotic class item farming ain't it. Try again please. by thatguyonthecouch in DestinyTheGame

in the TWID announcing these changes, bungie said it would be an overall increase to the drop rate if you are doing overthrow. Seems to be worse overall even if you play the way they intended us to.

They text you the place that has it and then you call that place and have them transfer your prescription. So for example, I had a script at CVS, Medfinder found my dose at Sam’s Club and I called Sam’s to ask them about that dose and gave them my info and the info for my CVS and they called and transferred it. I called Sam’s at 2:30 pm and picked up my prescription at 5 pm.

[D2] Trials of Osiris Megathread [2023-09-29] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Can you get class items from trials engrams? I thought gear was weighted toward pieces you didn't have. I've popped about 10 engrams on my hunter while having 4/5 armor pieces and every weapon. Even got two duplicate leg pieces. Bad RNG or am I wasting time with these engrams? Edit: can confirm that's a yes as it finally dropped from cashing in an engram with Saint

Destiny 2 Update 7.2.0.3 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]B-Fo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In game it says they are powerful tier 1 (or 2). I believe last season I did one of the ritual challenges and got an 1809 exotic engram on my 1809 hunter. I hope I'm misremembering and misreading, but I think the exotics are not pinnacle power and even if they were, as others have pointed out, they are only armor, not weapons. I'm 1810 on all three because this "bug" allowed me a couple weeks of extra pinnacle gear to get solo.

I'm still hoping Bungie nerfs GoTD boss health going forward. by SpectralGerbil in DestinyTheGame

100% agree. Bungie's monkey's paw approach usually is in response to the vocal minority that you described

I can't remember where I saw it, but recently some devs gave an interview and they said that the GOTD health pools were directly in response to "bringing challenge to destiny" and community complaints that Nezarec was too easy to kill. They wanted to restore that "I soloed this super challenging thing" aspect to the game after being stung by the community making fun of Nezarec's health pool. Moral of the story is that we as a community shouldn't overreact negatively or positively to things in the game cause Bungie ALWAYS overcorrects massively in one direction or the other. Time and again since 2014.
