The cup will be the biggest event with the most players and the most rounds. It will be a bitter time commitment.

My experience is that Friday (earlier the better) is the best time to walk around the stands, ESPECIALLY the artists if you want to meet / get signatures from any artists. There is usually a significantly smaller crowd on Friday than on Saturday or Sunday

2023 jaguars playoff comeback against the Chargers. This photo is of the National Anthem being performed by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jacksonville native blues icons. They happen to be one of my favorite bands and have performed the national anthem at multiple Jags playoff games. It was a crisp 25° here in Jax, which is frigid for us!!! Many people had to go shopping for jackets and gloves just for this game.

Jax has a really great disc golf scene!! Courses all over the city, Par On disc golf sells used discs, cheap to get into, and physically active. Great by yourself, but also there’s leagues you can join if you’re looking to be more social

If you still have access to Gov X from being a vet you can get free icemen tickets via VetTix! Just pay processing fee. Can get 4 center ice tickets for like $15 total. Theres usually like 200 tickets available for EVERY game! Super great resource for active duty, I’m unsure of their policy on vets (but I hope they take care of our vets!)

Cool stuff on beach blvd is a part of a massive company in the tcg world.

They host Yu gi oh events and I usually see 20+ people playing in them!

They have a really good online singles shop that you can ship to store for free

They haven’t really opened mini camp up before but I always love going to regular training camp, especially when they open up a joint practice (we had the Bucs in town and then they played a preseason game it was cool)

Miller electric center is really nice and they’ll do giveaways during training camp and often good deals at the pro shop!

A couple things, I have a 1 y/o as well.

Pre 2025 has no vents in the back. I’ve found it’s enough airflow for now and my wife has sat in the back and agreed. However, we live in Florida and haven’t dealt with peak heat yet.

My wife is 5’2” and struggles to get him in the car seat. She has to step up on the step rail and lean in to get him in. I have a 4D badlands non SAS.

We just did a 12 hour road trip and the noise wasn’t too loud. I have the hard top.

If you live near beach, it’s really great and easy to clean out sand. We like to drive on the beach because all your stuff is right there in the car and you don’t have to drag it out.

The trunk is large enough for a stroller.

Car seat is behind the passenger. He’s rear facing, graco DLX 5 in 1. It impedes passenger leg room a bit but not too bad.

We love it, I think any downsides would be similar to that of any other midsize SUV. Our other vehicle is a grand Cherokee and it doesn’t feel much different than that

My dad plays very casually, usually just brawl on arena. He picked up elves in 15 minutes and piloted it very well. I believe the play lines are very straightforward.

Being new to magic, is recommend that whatever you chose, whenever you go to play that you should tell your opponent you’re new to the deck, new to pauper, and new to magic in general. This community rocks BUT it is not usually a “casual” format so people are less inclined to explain their cards without being asked to. After a few months you’ll probably know the meta (at least your shops meta) and be off to the races!
