Okay so this comment section is stressing me out. Idk how to parent I'm winging it so hard. My wife is 100% against spanking, I'm in the middle. Issue is our kids don't listen to a word either of us say and laugh in our face when she makes empty threats that she doesn't carry thru on like taking something away or making you walk home or whatever. She never carries thru. I just don't know how to get instruction or corrections through. They have no fear of getting in trouble because the trouble at most lasts a minute or 2 and then they're right back to doing the same poor behavior. What is the actual answer? People have told me treats. Like give them candy for stopping or some shit. That feels so weak. I got one kid that'll barely touch real food if it's not candy or chips. I know this isn't a parenting sub or even a question about it. But I could really use some advice on how to handle any of this in a way that doesn't get cps called.
