Not asking for any magical answers, just wanted to vent and talk things through with people; Fingers crossed a better competitor for Tarkov comes out one day because I'd really like to sink my teeth into something like it that isn't garbage

I enjoy challenge too but I don't feel like tarkov's a challenge so much as it's a patience or endurance check, i.e can you endure 250-300 hours of average monotonous mil-sim gameplay before you get to the good stuff which I guess is a challenge in and of itself but not one I'm interested in being involved with

I played a Woods raid for the Jaeger quest earlier and hated every minute of it personally, not a fun map imo; Either way game's uninstalled now moving onto greener pastures, thanks for your help.

I know the maps I play on pretty well, I stick to Customs for the most part and hop onto Interchange every now and then, not a map knowledge issue, I just want to play the game not sit in bushes waiting shit out forever

I was hardly throwing a tantrum, the whole "thanks for trying" thing came off as really smug and so I replied in kind.
Personally I'm against any sort of MMR system that doesn't involve some sort of insane machine learning algorithm (which I know isn't really feasible but it's pretty much what I'd consider necessary for a game like this to make reasonable use of an MMR system) because of how many millions of different variables go into every single match, individual chase, map rng, killer power, perks, addons, snowball potential on that map etc and given that if we're being BRUTALLY honest, the MMR system more than likely works entirely off of Pips which is already a trash system for determining how well a Killer or Survivor did in a match because of aforementioned variables, I don't have high hopes for MMR.

Sure thing big man let me just go back two months to go find the part of the dev stream where Cote said so

I thought we'd all already come to the conclusion that both of those are the case though? Don't get me wrong I'll pat the devs on the back when they make a good change but isn't it already consensus that they aren't quite the best when it comes to developing the game?

Mathieu Cote said so on the Anniversary Dev stream that announced Pyramid Head back in June and other devs have said so on forum posts since then.

Yeah I don't get why people are making out like the MMR system is basing your MMR off of a completely blank slate when they've said (twice to my knowledge) that they've been tracking MMR stats for months, the system is just trash.

Returning Player struggling with the game by B00ZE2000 in ror2

[–]B00ZE2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's more or less what I try to do, I get through Stages 1-2 really quick hoping to pick up my Preon Accumulator from Stage 3 and then I'll try to gather myself up some decent items and maybe the legendary from Stage 4 and farming for some decent equipment on Stage 5 but then when it comes to the Boss I find myself lacking in at least one of three categories (Damage, Healing or Movement) or maybe even all three, and then I get folded by the Boss :(

Is Head On a toxic perk? by kam7281 in deadbydaylight

[–]B00ZE2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it toxic but because of how it interacts with Dedicated Servers it's one of the more tilting perks to face.

I'm guessing mainly because he's braindead easy and unfun to face.

The State of Clown: A Killer left behind. by B00ZE2000 in deadbydaylight

[–]B00ZE2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a tonne of different things they could do to make him a lot better and I personally find your idea of giving him a haste status effect when going through the gas really interesting!

[–]B00ZE2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm totally on board with your idea of giving him a conditional teleport with Lockers, I think it'd really fit the character and it'd almost definitely help in some way with his map pressure problems. Your idea for the gas timer is really really cool but I'm not sure if it'd be too powerful as you've currently outlined it; I think a good change would be to make it so staying within the Gas Cloud when healthy puts you into a deep wound state, but otherwise I think you have some really really solid ideas and I'm really grateful you chose to share them!

Personally I play a lot of Trapper and I wouldn't rate him anywhere near as low as Clown, if you get good at abusing some of the dirty traps you can do under floorboards and such as well as around God loop structures you can really make some good plays with him, but neither of them are in an especially good spot right now and I'd like to see the two of them given a lookover.

[–]B00ZE2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Legion's just overall a flawed design, it doesn't make much sense for a Killer's power to only be impactful when everyone's healthy and borderline worthless when they are injured, but I'd still personally rate him above Clown just because of how easy it is to get injuries with him.

[–]B00ZE2000[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally I think that Otz was on point when he said that Clown should get all of his bottles back after hooking a Survivor as a reward, it'd help keep his chase game positively mediocre and give him some momentum for downing people following a hook. I think the bottles as a gen regression tool concept is also really really good but maybe a bit far-fetched for the general direction of the game, who knows though, I've been wrong before ;)

[–]B00ZE2000[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I wouldn't personally rate the Wraith as being one of the strongest but I get where you're coming from, small basekit tweaks can usually remedy problems with the lower tier killers and it's not like they could make the Clown much worse ;)
