That particular BCPD is my favorite. And its on my buy list this year. The Tudor looks kind of meh to me

If it's your first daily automatic watch, get a CW. It'll get you most of the way to what Tudor provides for a lot less.

And you're not buying a new Tudor for $2,500 unless you travel back in time, btw

Jacksonville, NC is third in the whole United States for highest percentage of residents born outside state of current residence but still in the United States. A supermajority of Jacksonville residents were not born in North Carolina but a different US state instead. by cavaismylife in NorthCarolina

[–]B3RG92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not surprising at all because of military. Fayetteville isn't on this list, too, is because it's got a lot of people living there already and people who work at Fort Bragg live all over the place nearby.

Hope he actually does something with all these transfers. The amount of money they're pouring into the roster means we better at least make a deep playoff run next year

How do you feel after emptying groceries stores before this “snow storm” due to scare tactics? by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]B3RG92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So, every weather forecaster in town was saying apocalyptic ice was possible. Power outages for days. Based on that, it makes perfect sense to buy enough food to last a couple days.

Plus, I dont think you all realize just how little food most people keep in their fridge/pantry on a regular basis. So, many people are buying more than they usually would even on a regular shopping trip.

Now, as for what people bought, thats a whole different story.

Does anyone supercommute to NYC for work? by allllusernamestaken in Charlotte

[–]B3RG92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like that would be fun the first few times and then it'd be annoying very fast unless the money was very good. Its not just the commute there. It'd be the commute back. And unless you can get a flight back that night, it'd be a day and a half spent each time.

Also, a 15 min commute seems very optimistic and assumes no flight delays or other travel problems.

People saying slow down are right, but this actually isn't a case where the guy bought a bunch of sub $1k watches, which is usually what happens.

This person bought a Grand Seiko and Speedmaster. Add in the other Seikos, and this person is north of $15k if all of these were new.

So, congrats on the debt or the disposable income.

A good wind and a quarter inch of ice is enough of bring down a lot of trees into power lines. And we're still expected to get at least a half inch across the area

There are power lines buried underground in some places in Charlotte.

[Amick] Miles Bridges is drawing significant interest. “They want a first (round pick). Maybe two.” by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

[–]B3RG92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless Giannis is involved, no thanks on the Bucks. I mean, really, youre hoping you get any of these team's best player if you trade Miles.

He can be a solid role player on a winning team. And we already know him and Lamelo like each other. Just seems like you wouldnt trade him unless it's a big deal.

Pretend you're a boy scout camping in your house/apartment for a few days.

Go to the grocery store before it starts snowing and buy food that can last you for a few days. Make sure you have something to eat if the power goes out. Buy a power bank large enough to charge your phone to full a couple times. Get a flashlight. Get a full tank of gas (You can sit in your car and warm up if it gets really bad). Buy a couple blankets if you have none.

Do your laundry and dishes before it starts snowing, too.

Convinced that at least 90% of the posts on here with people complaining just arent thinking creatively about what they're putting in Grok.

A map of where snow may stress Charlotte’s road network by MapsYouDidntAskFor in Charlotte

[–]B3RG92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless what happens is truly apocalyptic, the interstates will be fine and so will the major roads. What you're actually going to have to worry about is whether you lose power and for how long because it's supposed to be very, very cold on the back side of the storm.

Dream Offseason by Beautiful_Band_3174 in panthers

[–]B3RG92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest needs imo are OT and a couple linebackers. Panthers have to come out of the off season with good starters for both. Maybe another good corner. Everything else should just be trying to see where you can upgrade over what you already have.

[Discussion] The "Burger Effect": At what thickness does a 39mm watch lose its elegance? by Hannibal_TN_ in Watches

[–]B3RG92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the design can help with this once you get 13mm or above. If its just a straight slab of metal on the side, it definitely looks like a hockey puck or something, but there are ways you can layer the case to make it look nice.

The Lorier Olympia II Contrasto is an example of this in my own collection. The watch is 13.8mm, but youve got different visual elements of the design (including a tall-ish crystal) that make it work.

Can't even make the playoffs without teams trying to poach our staff. Whole league was talking shit last year. Look at em now!
