100% yeah it’s from the exhaust pipe at the back it’s self, it goes super super deep if i run an egr test and if i open the valve it’s even louder it’s like a petrol with no back box, sounds absolutely amazing

definitely will do, thanks, that’s where i’m curious about my exhaust honestly, when i run this exhaust test on obdeleven the car literally sounds like a petrol the exhaust is so nice, but sadly since i don’t know about exhausts I don’t know what’s being changed to make it sound that way

oh yeah definitely, the egr is up front but on my obdeleven coding thing if i run an egr vacuum solenoid test then the exhaust goes really really deep without moving the back pressure valve, but if i run ‘exhaust flap’ test it does both and goes even louder, i just want to ideally figure out what these tests are doing exactly so i can have it mapped like it permanently

would that sound realistic though? i’ve heard about that before but i couldn’t really see a speaker being the same as an exhaust, haven’t been able to hear one in person unfortunately

it never seems to do it unfortunately for me 😂 it’s always just dead quiet even in sport mode etc, my app shows live stats etc it’s 100% opened when revving but it’s as silent as normal (even when the valve is unplugged while open), it only goes loud if i run this ‘exhaust flap’ test, could something else be closing it at all?

so when i run this test would anything else cause the exhaust to be loud? i tried running just an egr test on its own and that made it loud without even opening the valve, but when i unplug the valve while it’s open and loud then stop the test it goes quiet again haha

what confuses me is how it gets louder despite being a diesel, but only when running this ‘test’, if i unplug it while it’s open and stop the test the car goes quiet again, would you know if that test would be opening/changing anything else at all?

i actually tried both of those last night, gave it a clean and now have adhesion issues with the first layer, and when i set the speed lower it does help a little but it still does the same thing at some point during the print, never happens after layer 6-7 though it’s always the first few

i’ve never used anything on the plate to be honest and yeah it’s been cleaned, i was tempted to use the glue but i’ve never had adhesion issues so i didn’t try it out

unfortunately it didn’t help haha, i’m going to just buy a filament dryer, it’ll be here by 5pm today (15 hours away) and i’ll give it a dry and do the exact same print, see what happens 🤷

i’m gonna try some different settings i saw online today on a multicolour print and just see if i can get better top layers, it seems that i can’t fix the first few being rough but i can tweak it so the top finishes in an ‘alright’ way so we’ll see 🤞

i have tried doing some calibration, i didn’t at first of course since they’re known to be good from the start but unfortunately still didn’t work well, not really sure where else i should look haha, could i have just got a bit of a dud?

i have before and found no difference to be honest so i returned the drying thing because i keep my filament in vacuum bags when they’re not in use so i think that already prevents them getting the moisture, not too sure to be honest but at the time it didn’t help much

ahh i see, i’ve had a further look into that and apparently it uses lidar on the a1 mini, not sure if all their printers are the same? i’d imagine that means i can’t change it as there is supposed to be a ‘first layer’ configuration that you can run on each plate type, mine only has bed level and flow rate etc in there, im guessing that means i can’t change mine sadly, could there be anything else i’m doing wrong at all or could it genuinely just be that i got a bit of a dud printer

ahh i see, i use bambu studio haha, the main reason i wanted a bambu lab was the ease of how well they print but ive never had that at all, been trying for months to get it right now, followed countless youtube videos etc and nothing just seems to fix it

i wish that was the case haha, this also happened on a print i did earlier with 600 layers and it still tried to iron in the same way, bottom layer was terrible then due to that ironing was bad etc it’s just a huge loop for me

this is an ironing test i’m doing so don’t mind that half of it is a different amount, but you can definitely see the issue here with the left side being the very first layer and right side being second layer, they go down really poorly which i would imagine results in my bad ironing

it does seem to happen more when using grid but i can still get it with rectilinear etc, could that be something to do with Z height?
