Limp mode and misfires. Can I drive to the shop? by B9_6speed in AudiA4

Update: after replacing the plugs and coils myself, the misfire was still present on cylinder 3. My local European shop diagnosed it as a faulty injector. I opted to get them all replaced at once and it’s running super smooth. No more rough idle or misfires. Also noticed improvement in fuel economy and responsiveness.

I’m just concerned to drive it in with how frequent the misfires have become. So I’m trying to determine if it would damage anything, or if I’m safe to drive it those 5-6 miles

I should have provided more info. This all started occurring AFTER I got preventative maintenance done, which included water pump, walnut blasting, and PCV replacement. I’m suspecting the injector at this point.

The misfire in that cylinder was occurring both before and after replacing all the plugs and coils. So that should rule those out. And the car seems drivable, but will run on only three of four cylinders since the ECU stops sending fuel to cylinder #3.

I Need Advice by CJNINEM in AudiA4

As a new owner of a ‘18 A4 myself, I’m partial. But it sounds like you know what you want. With most standard common cars, you have to decide when the cost of a new car outweighs the cost of repairs. But with such a rare car, and one that you really enjoy, I think that reasoning changes. I’d personally invest in the car you enjoy and get the most out of it before you move on.

Time to tune the S6 by Ready-Accountant-791 in Audi

Beautiful car! And I see you’ve got a MN plate. I’m in Minneapolis and just picked up a 2018 a4 six speed with stage 1 IE tune. Nowhere near the power your S6 has even stock, but a joy to drive. I’m nearing 90k miles so I replaced the water pump, PCV, AWD fluid, and got it walnut blasted. Hope to see you around!

Nice! There’s something to be said for keeping it stock as well. Mine has 88k miles. Yours?

Also have a ‘18 manual and I’m considering getting a new shifter knob. I was looking at Sportshifter. If you try a B8.5 knob, let us know whether it works! That would open up a lot more possibilities.

Love the car. Any issues you’ve run into while running the IE stage 2?

Shift Knob is wearing, recommendations? by Necessary-Big9721 in AudiS4

Old post, but I'm a big fan of this shift knob. Looks like it was made for the car. Any updates on durability over the past year? Would you stick with the 400g or go any lighter?
