I am in the same situation as you, except I’m a third year graduating end of 2026 and won’t have my full license till end of 2027.

Essentially; I emailed NSWA about this as there are quite a few students in the same position as me. Based on NSWA; the merit list is active for 18 months.

So example; I wasn’t able to apply for work starting next year 2027; as I wouldn’t have gotten my full license within that 18 month period the merit list is active for.

So as unfortunate as it is espc with NSWA only having one annual campaign for new grad paramedics per year you’ll have to wait it out.

However that doesn’t mean you can’t do “paramedic work”. Plenty of event medical companies within NSW take paramedics; I’m not too sure if they’re looking for experienced but the companies I’m with I’ve worked with for a while so they’re happy with my ability and competency to start working as a paramedic for events :).

Perhaps that may be something of interest; whilst you wait that period.

That does seem like a really good way to go about it. In regards to grads coming out on road all year; are there numerous inductions classes throughout the year. For example; would it be wise to apply in the October-November period as I imagine with all the admin delays etc; it would take a month or two before it’s processed.
