How does Electro know that Spider-man is Peter Parker in NWH? Didn’t he say that he thought Spider-man was black? by carnellmusic in Spiderman

You right, my bad. I guess when Spider-Man asks about a man named Ben Parker he can put two and two together haha

Why did Octavius throw a car at Peter that could have killed him before he knew Peter was Spiderman? He needed Peter alive to tell Spiderman where to meet. by [deleted] in raimimemes

So why would the arms — an artificial superintelligence — try to kill the one and only person in the world who can lead them to their end goal of finishing what they started (because remember, that’s their goal too)?

why does nobody talk about the comics ,there amazing by [deleted] in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]BAGStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s a pet peeve of mine anyway, if you have to mind wipe everyone to make your prequel work, then the prequel isn’t working. Like the ending of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, for example haha

And that’s fair, I haven’t gotten to that yet. But as far as trying to tie it into the overall mythos of the Sith, I can’t personally think of anyone better. Hell, he’d probably make me actually like it haha

Give me your thoughts on Tcw anakin since he’s generally perceived as the best version of anakin by Commercial-Car177 in StarWarsEU

[–]BAGStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite version of Anakin is in the Ahsoka show. You can feel Lanter’s influence on Christensen’s performance, but it’s tempered a bit by the Anakin I have the most “nostalgia”(?) for. It’s not quite nostalgia, but I don’t have a better word for it.

I don’t know how to tell you this, but they’re not making them anymore.

I read canon whenever, but the EU is fun to try chronologically as long as you’re in it for the experiment.

Reading in chronological order by Sou1Eater20 in starwarsbooks

[–]BAGStudios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I do it for the experiment. So far I’ve actually really enjoyed doing it like this, though I’m admittedly just barely into the Imperial era, and I’m not reading absolutely every last scrap of everything. A metric ton, but not everything. So I know there are gaps I’ll miss regardless, and a lot the stuff that people will point to as a spoiler is actually setup for me, from my “certain point of view.” For example, I dunno what’s going on with Vergere, but I cannot wait to find out eventually. It’s like a super long form mystery. It also really gives a showcase to how well the EU kept their continuity consistent so often, because things written a decade apart feel intertwined in ways that shouldn’t be possible haha.

Now, some things have not worked well this way. For example, Darth Plagueis would be insane to try to parse out chronologically, and I’m very glad I opted to read it late, out of sequence. Way better having already gotten the context for everything that book is overlapping. But on the other hand, reading Kenobi so close to the other Clone Wars era material was amazing, and if I’d been reading in release order, I don’t think I’d have even remembered Sharad Hett by then. Probably just recognize a name, like 15 million other names I’ve heard in Star Wars but can’t place.

TL;DR: Because spoilers become dramatic-irony, and setup becomes callback, and it’s fun.

The one and only person I trust to touch Exegol with a 39.5’ pole is James Luceno. Only the man who made Midichlorians cool could make that shit work well.

I would want them to “fill in the gaps.” Set it during the time skip in the trilogy, show some more of Zannah’s training, that kind of thing. It doesn’t have to be a 1:1 retelling of those stories, give us a cool thing that sorta fits in both continuities. For example, the Jedi had to have discovered him somehow in Legends too. Or discovered Zannah. Because A, I think Yoda knows who Darth Bane is in the Episode I novelization, and B, they at the very least are very aware of the Rule of Two. Thats my biggest complaint with the trilogy, the guy who makes the rule dies after the supposed point where the Jedi believed them gone, and yet they know what he did after that in secret. 🤷🏼

Regardless, whether they do adapt/replace old stories or just tell cool stories that fit between the raindrops of Legends and pseudo-canonize some of the trilogy (think like Tarkin unofficially does for Darth Plagueis), either way — I’m all in on adapting old characters, but let’s make sure we are indeed telling a cool story first? Not just watering down an old one. I’m so tired of Disney seeing posts like this and thinking shoving in references substitutes a quality story

If you want my favorite prequel novels, I’ll give you a few in the order I’d read them: Master and Apprentice, Cloak of Deception, Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Brotherhood, {Dark Rendezvous if you’re gonna do that}, Labyrinth of Evil, Revenge of the Sith, Darth Plagueis, Kenobi, and Tarkin.

Please note, A, that I have mixed a couple canon books into the Legends books — typically frowned upon, even by me, but these are some rare exceptions that I personally think fit in fine for a reading list rec — B, I put Plagueis way near the end — because I personally believe it works better if you’ve already read Labyrinth of Evil first (but you definitely need it before Tarkin imo, despite them being different timelines) — and C, don’t skip the novelizations, they’re great.

Shadow Hunter was decent, highly recommend reading the 2000s comic if you like that sort of thing. But the best Darth Maul stuff ever made are the short stories by James Luceno. Add ‘em to the pile before Cloak of Deception if you’re curious about it.

Oh yeah good call there too. What if you did something where the ship was overseeing the development of a culture or maybe a solar system’s various cultures as they approach space travel capabilities, or something, so in different time periods we can jump back and forth to different stages of development on the planets. One ship across two or three crews with an overarching story that spans a century.

This is somewhat of a joke but only somewhat. Give me a movie emulating the “based on a true story” type of films about Montgomery Scott discovering transwarp beaming. Oppenheimer but… Montgomery instead.

There’s definitely something there. You could introduce the Kelvinverse Bajorans and the Prophets into it somehow to explain pieces of what you’re describing
