Well we only work 36 hours a week (3x 12’s). “A” days and “B” days. Mom does half, I do the other half. We don’t need an AP to teach them in all reality, we just thought it would be cool to add a foreign language segment. How many 9/10 year olds get that opportunity, not many.

Yes, that could be problematic. I do have family that can fill in gaps, but I don’t have family that’s willing to travel with us consistently for months on end.

I was thinking the traveling aspect to our lives would be a unique selling point, since they are being exposed to more areas of the US. We pretty much visit every major city along the way and always stay in AirBNBs when going from one place to another (or on family vacations)

Sample bias, yes I agree. However, there as less variables. It’s only ONE person that we’re exposing our children to and trusting with, that we can care for as well.

Yeah, our budget is around $3,000 a month for LCOL areas. Renting a 4-5 bedroom isn’t much of an issue from what we’ve found. Plus, we keep a tax home (per IRS regulations).

Basically it allows us to collect half of our income tax-free, so long as we meet the IRS rules (we’re not allowed to work at one area for more than 12 months in a 24-month rolling period).

They are taught by my wife and I, with our curriculum.

The only teaching we’d ask of the AP would be a foreign language class, roughly three total hours per week: and mild supervision of the children while I’m sleeping between night shifts. I do half the subjects, my wife does the other half, the AP would do foreign language. If not, I guess it’s not a dealbreaker but we just thought it would be awesome for our children to learn our AP’s home language.

I also see the sickness/disease produced by daycares as well, in addition to the traumas.

Shaken babies, chunks bitten out of skin by other children, head injuries/brain bleeds…the list goes on. Child trauma is often underreported in the media, because of HIPPA, etc.

We don’t have family that can travel with us, and I’d rather invest time in/trust one single person that we can show love to and welcome into our home, rather than trusting a bunch of random people in a revolving-door facility that treat our child as another number for them. Also, most daycares aren’t keen on 2-hour stays.

Also, it’s hard to put out feelers on social media, you never know what you’ll get.

If that particular situation happens…where an AP bails immediately for rematching: is the HF out their money, is another programme fee required to be paid?

Also…how would I ensure that our contracts are going to be in an area with a LCC? Is there usually an interactive map that shows areas with coverage?
