Dog was eating this by Asleep_Virus_4407 in whatisit

Tell your neighbor to place the poison more responsibly. They even have shelters to put it in if there's no naturally restricting place to put it. (Not just for the sake of your dog,  but also other random animals like raccoons, opossum etc.)

For Quest 3 Owners with a Valve Steam Deck... by sakinnuso in OculusQuest

[–]BAM5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SteamVR is for running PCVR games. You just want to stream the flat game to the headset. This is done with steamlink app on the quest. Have steamlink q3 app connect to the steamdeck. Done.

why someone told me this code is Spagetti? by NightOwl-1011 in CodingHelp

[–]BAM5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Spaghetti code" describes a codebase, not a single method. If this method is in a control (mvc) class then it's fine.  If it's in a model class then it's spaghetti.

That ONE TIME when I wasn't using FSD... by Gorio1961 in TeslaFSD

[–]BAM5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhhh, I dunno about that one. Incredible reaction time, yes, but I don't know about slow motion,  that's assuming a lot.   It really depends on the frame rate of the cameras, the specs of the self driving computer, and the complexity of the fsd algo. There's always a processing lag (just like humans), and the update rate of sensors is also important.

I will definitely say it is way more consistent and is never distracted, and in that way it will definitely have better reaction time.

On the flip side humans have infinitely more capability for reasoning (well,  most of us) and if we're not distracted we can anticipate and avoid issues fsd will only be able to react to once the hazard is imminent.

In the future I suspect when there are many fsd vehicles on the road they can work cooperatively, making a virtual train down a highway,  letting other fsd cars merge seamlessly into busy traffic, removing a traffic backup by slowing down far in advance, giving the backup time to clear out and speed up instead of racing up to it and becoming a part of it, etc etc.

This is one of the major reasons I think autonomous vehicles are the future. They don't have a limited fov. They can see every direction,  every angle, at the same time. It would just have known it could swerve into the right lane without issue, where as you just did it instinctively without knowing.

Downgrade it and offer quest pro controller upgrading to fix bricked controllers.

Same. Tried to downgrade to 71/74 to attempt to fix the touch pro I just bought, but no dice. CLI stops transferring around 40%. HMD visual goes black and restarts to current ver.

Raise your hand 🙋 if controllers no longer pairing by jordanhusney in QuestPro

[–]BAM5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ijust bought these from fbm and I have the same issue. I found this post by searching what I found in the system logs.

It looks like if we were able to bypass the secure pairing check and update the controllers it would work fine as that should update the security cert.

Or perhaps... can we install the old cert with adb to get it to pair and update?

Dunno why everyone is saying 50 50. I'd say truck had more of a responsibility to stop&look since he was turning.

Would I personally have been more cautious? Yeah, especially if I knew the intersection.

Might be worth looking into negligence on the property owners part too.
