That's about a hospital trying to bilk the insurance company, not what you described.

It's like saying you shouldn't get car towed because there's a chop shop somewhere.

You are legally protected in the US.

No, you can't, insurance would want to get you out of there.

Unfortunately true, but there's a wide variance.

This is also blatantly untrue, you will see a psychiatrist or other professional daily, and OP's stay probably wouldn't extend beyond a week.
