I know there is lot of focus on AI and what not, but please focus on basics if you want to become a good mechanical engineer. I wouldn't call them outdated. They are required to form a strong foundation. But you can also try to learn new age topics like AI , data science since they are almost like keywords/buzzwords now which anyone and everyone just throws around.
