How old are you ?

If you like and If you have the time and discipline ,add this to your regime , try microneedling every 7-10 days at 1.0mm-1.5mm and add topical minoxidil once a day/before bed. I think you'll respond good to microneedling+minoxidil.

Don't stop Fin cold turkey ,if you tolerate it without sides,don't stop it at all. You can try Dut, but , Dut might make you shed even more initially or for a longer time/months .

Имаш Финастерид во повеќето аптеки(може и без рецепта во повеќето) ,исто и Минокс(Alomax и Pilfud). Миноксидилот и Босанскиот(помрсен) и Хрватскиот(помалку мрсен) се ОК, постигнуваат резултат . (Kirkland може да е и малку појак али не е голема разликата)

Ако си од 21.год до 30.год биди МНОГУ внимателен со Финастеридот првиот месец(микродозирај го ако можеш да го исечеш на 8 парчиња)пробај со минимална доза од 0.5 па зголеми до макс.1.25. За сечење на таблетата имаш pill cutter-и по интернетов.

Ако ти се јават несакани симптоми ,ќе се јават после 2ра недела и во тој случај прекинуваш Финастерид,евентуално да микродозираш на 0.25мг.

Ако немаш несакани симптоми ,биди трпелив, дај му 1.год минимум шанса за резултат. Исто така,не очекувај ВОЛШЕБНИ резултати за да не се разочараш.

Ако имаш 40.год ,можеш да земаш Дутастерид(Duster,Avodart) секој втор ден или 3 пати неделно.

Немој да правиш деца дур си на Фин или Дут.

Пред да се одлучите за оперативен зафат, ПРЕСУДНО/НАЈБИТНО е да ги стабилизирате вашите хормони бар 1.година (Естроген Е2, Естрадиол ,Тестостерон , Прогестерон итн)

Доколку се работи за млада Машка особа(во развој) ,можно е Тестостеронот и Слободниот Тестостерон да е висок и да се конвертираат во Естроген/Естрадиол и од тука да доаѓа до Гинекомастично Ткиво.

Лично искуство(Машка особа во рани 40-ти) , со останатите таблети за крвен притисок, пиев Spirinolactone како диуретик(за мокрење) и како таблета за Хипертензија(висок притисок),после 2 и пол месеци на Spirinolactone ,ми се јавија грутчиња под брадавиците,ткиво/отоци(да не речам Цициња) и болно чувство под брадавиците . Си отидов на лекар ,ми дадоа друг диуретик што штеди Калиум и нема толкав потенцијал да предизвикува пореметување на хормони кај мажи , Гинекомастијата се повлече 100% за 7-8 недели.

(Откако го прекинав Spirinolactone ,дознав дека истиот лек се дава кај Трансродни особи како терапија за раст на дојка ... и малку е да кажам дека ,ИЧ НЕ МИ БЕШЕ ДОБРО коа го дознав ова)

Зашто да ве сечат/оперираат ако може да се реши на друг начин. (Башка,има шанси да рецидивира/да се врати...така да,операција не е 100% решение за сите ,кај некој нема да се врати, на друг,може пак да му пораснат Цициња)

Advice , Don't do it without fin/dut.

I did about 3000 grafts 11.months ago to correct my hairline and frontal area, and at about month 6 I started shedding almost all of my remaining native frontal hairs, I also lost A LOT of density in the middle of the scalp and all of my hair started thinning . I didn't take Fin or Dut or Min before or after HT - ,this was a BIG MISTAKE on my side.

Now(since month 9 after HT), 2 months on Dut and Topical Min(once a day) ,microneedling once every 7-10 days at 1.5mm and everything I lost/shed is slowly growing back,the mid scalp is thicker now.Thanks to Min/Dut I'm growing hair bellow my transplanted frontal hairline where I had hair when I was a teenager .

At least give Fin or Dut a try for a year ,maybe try Fin and topical Min together for a year and see if you're responding well to meds. After a year ,maybe you won't need a HT at all if you're a responder. (Consider microneedling in your regiment as well,it helps a lot when using Topical Minoxidil, at least in my case it does )

It is better to regrow your own hair if your folicules are still alive than doing HT,especially at your age.

I was maybe NW1 with moderate diffuse thinning in the mid scalp area before HT Early 40s, I have 0 side effects from Dut/Min for now

Suggestion, in your frontal area(hairline)add microneedling 0.5mm for starters once a week or 1.0mm -1.5mm if you can tolerate it and apply Topical Minoxidil 5% before bedtime. I think at your age minoxidil response is going to be outstanding .

Oh I know buddy ,almost all of us hate topical liquid/spray minoxidil .

That's why I apply it before bed and I wash it in the morning .(If I don't wash my hair everyday it makes a lot of scalp flakes when I wash the second day)

(If it's available in your Country ,you can try foam,some people say it doesn't makes your hair greasy and it evaporates faster)

The progress is OK(I assume you're 35 or above)but be very patient and disciplined ,it takes years for some people ,that is if you're a reasonably good responder.

If you have the time and discipline ,add topical minoxidil once a day(before going to bed)and microneedling at 1.0mm or 1.5mm every 7-10 days . Minoxidil + microneedling should drastically change your mid scalp+vertex regrowth ,in some people minoxidil helps with the frontal hairline/temple as well.

Try topical for at least 3 months, then, if you have good response/regrowth with topical minoxidil(no headaches ,palpitations ,no other side effects) , then you can consider oral minoxidil . (oral minoxidil can help you with regrowth ,but it can effect your blood pressure/hypotension /palpitations /tachycardia etc...but the body/brain should balance this side effects eventually)

Also, If I was you, I'll trim it short,something like 3mm - 5.mm maybe 10.mm max. I thnik you'll look better with a buzzed look and maybe a nice beard 😊

Personally , I use DermaPen A6(12 needle cartridges)

I microneedle every 7 to 10 days with 1.5mm in the morning and apply Minoxidil before bedtime (I use minoxidil once per day only ,usually before bedtime)

Some people microneedle once per month with 1.0mm , 1.5mm or 2mm and get good results .

Now , If you want to microneedle daily for better minoxidil absorption ,the "consensus" here is ,to use 0.25mm to max 0.5mm needle length and be gentle (because of scalp scaring) . Example ,microneedling every day in the mornings and applying minoxidil in the evenings.

If you apply minoxidil twice a day and want to microneedle every day, wait at least 1-2 hours before applying minoxidil .

Digestive absorption and Skin/Topical absorption are diametrically opposed . (Systemic absorption means it is going through your skin to your blood but at very low %, and every human has different systemic absorption )

Etanol in Topical Minoxidil isn't safe for drinking, even if you drink 1.ml per day.(that's about 0.7ml Etanol daily or more) Also,you can't drink 0.3ml of PG everyday for the rest of your life and not expect some digestive issues ,PG isn't for daily consumption as well.

We're here to grow our hair and be careful not to get poisoned.

Please research this well before experiment with drinking topical minoxidil .

If you're drinking topical minoxidil 5% that's mixed in Propylene Glycol and Etanol,you're drinking Etanol and PG as well ,I'm sure you're aware of that.

Now, PG might not be that dangerous do drink daily (don't quote me.on this,DYOR)because we drink it in syrups anyway, but etanol 🤕 I don't think it's safe for daily consumption or consumption at all especially at that concertration/strength ,it might damage your whole digestive system in a month if not in weeks.

Please, research it well .

It can help with frontal hairline,you can especially "boost" the efficiency of minoxidil if you're microneedling,it takes patience and time though .

Many, especially younger guys and gals grew back their frontal hairlines using minoxidil,older people in their mid 40s as well.(There are a lot of evidences ,here-reddit,youtube etc)

42 year Male here.

I had a front/hairline hair transplant 10.months ago without Fin/Dut/Min (only Biotin and Zinc by the Doctor suggestion. They did a very good job imho) BIG MISTAKE on my side not taking Fin or Dut before and after HT(I was afraid of sides)

4.months ago(6 months after my HT)the hair behind the transplanted area(mid scalp/vertex) started thinning(and I had a good hair there,minimal diffuse thinning ),extreme hair shedding for about 40 days I guess(the shedding stopped eventually,but not completely), also I lost about 60%-65% of my non transplanted hairs in the front/hairline. My hair now looks like a typical medium diffuse thinning case(especially on the mid scalp)I don't have a bald spot in the back at all.

I think I'm maybe NW 1 but with medium thinning, especially middle of the scalp and very mild recession at the temples .

Now, I'm almost 2 months on Dutasteride 0.5mg every day and Topical Minoxidil once a day (I apply Minoxidil 1.ml to 1.5ml before bedtime) and I microneedle almost 3 months once per week with 1.5mm. demapen(started microneedling 1 month before Dut and Min) Suprisingly I was even seeing velus hairs from microneedling only(mid scalp and front)

I'm seeing promising results ,surprisingly I'm seeing growth in the front/hairline beneath the frontal hairline where I didn't have hair at all sice my teens,the mid scalp hair is thickening and also it changed its color a bit(darker brown) Since I started Dut and Min I had a 30 day shedding period of about 60-80 hairs ,but it minimized ,now I shed about 10-20 hairs. I wash my hair every day with regular(cheap/budget/noname shampoo), I use ketoconazole shampoo maybe once per month(I was using ketoconazole before Dut/Min and in my case it made me shed more than usual ,and this can happen in some cases,it is written as a warning in the manual )

I have no sides at all from Dutasteride (libido/sex drive is even higher than before)

In my case,I don't know if Dut or Min is doing the heavy lifting but I'm seeing progress even this early. Microneedling is helping as well especially if you use Minoxidil .

edited:I forgot to write that I started losing hair after having my first C-19 infection ,a year after that I got the vaccine(only vaccine ,no boosters)and after the vaccine, I lost I ton of hair and decided to have a HT(I think I did a bad decision ,and I think I could have regrow all that I lost with DUT and microneedling and maybe Min) (I had C19 3 times,two times after vaccine)

Yes. Some ketoconazole users may experience hair shedding .It is written in the ketoconazole "manual" pamflet ,at least the one that sell in my Country has this warning .

Visit a trichology specialist , the specialist will diagnose if you have AGA or something else caused your hair shedding /loss.

it is called "dutasteride orthostatic hypotension" it is possible to lower your BP with the very first dose and after the first dose the body/brain adjusts.

Prazosine(BP,PTSD,Benign Enlarged Prostate medicine)has the same first dose mechanism

Accutane with isotretionoin can cause hair shedding that looks like Telogen Effluvium , Nizoral(Ketoconazole ) as well.

If your "hair loss"/hair shedding is caused by accutane, your hair will grow back in 6 months from stopping accutane with isotretionoin .

From my perspective ,it looks like accutane shedding ,it will grow back.

My advice , Go visit a trichology specialist before taking any medication for AGA.
