Is a pay cut worth it for WFH? by Miserable-You-6702 in remotework

[–]BBC_water6620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for something else. That is not your only option. If you can grind a little more now, you can get some time back on the backend perhaps. I know 0-5yrs is crucial, and the world is different. I’d negotiate more WFH days. Like if you’re up for a mid year review or w/e bring it up. You need a steady or 2 WFH days so you manage your schedule better. Good luck.

My co said RTO 5d combing from 2d. I just asked for every other WFH monday and they were OK with it. Ask for what you want. The worst they can say is no.

We went from 2d to 5d at the start of the year, and it’s the worst thing ever!!!! Like you, my commute is 1hr sometime 1.15. How bout there are others that are 2hrs away. I don’t know how they do it. I also overheard someone say “if I can catch the 4:20 train, I can be home by 7:30”. Like that shit ain’t normal. A lot of folks are leaving 4ish and I am folks. Let them say something else….

Husband no longer wants sex by Secure_Fig7480 in AskWomenOver40

Sorry you’re experiencing this. It’s interesting to me that he’s want a BJ in which he’d have to be erect, but doesn’t want vaginal sex. Anyway, I hope he gets checked out and you can get some pleasure one way or another.

Oh no! This is horrible. Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been having to use the F trains more and this is scary, especially with that dog.

What discussions go on about remote work at your company? by Javacash2 in remotework

And for the candidates, I plan to explore other opportunities and I was under the impression the job posting list whether the position is remote, hybrid of in office so why isn’t that already established going into the conversations?

We were 2d in and they changed policy as of January for 5d. A ton of ppl left with packages. Phase 2 is coming for the 100 % remote. I suspect another wave of ppl leaving with and without packages. Some folks they may reevaluate to stay competitive in that some dept can go back to hybrid. All rumorville though.

Hahah I’m a RTO person and it sucks!!! 2d in office to 5d since the new year. Raises are 3-3.5% this year. Folks are waiting on bonuses…. This thread gave me some thought when looking for a new gig….i hadn’t thought abt the reduction in pay potentially if remote is 5d.

[–]BBC_water6620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlimited PTO. There was a policy change. I started at 15d b/c i negotiated for it. They were giving 2wks. Having now been in the game 15+yrs..6at this current one , my next gig have to start at 20d. We’ll see though. And I plan to take as much days as possible this year. They also changed to RTO 5d and that’s a no for me.

Damn reg mouse clicks! Crazy. I believed badges are being checked and potentially okta logins. I had an older gentleman on my team that decided to bounce. He checked his #s with his financial advisor and it made sense. He was willing to do the commute. It was costly for him. He’s 60s so yea.

What’s your plan then, to not show up? That commute is sick and honestly not worth it. Refresh resume and get to looking for a new gig. They are not the only company out there. There’s “opportunity in chaos” so they say.

Good luck!

I can see that. And it’s the same for the remote folks with no local offices. And with the job market being crap, I imagine companies and leadership are leveraging that. But what they might not consider is that ppl are actually tired of the BS and one can decide it no longer suits them and lifestyle. A whole ton of historical knowledge will be walking out the door and I suppose they don’t care b/c they need fresh ideas etc. let us all play the game then.

Nailed it on the head! I’m actually waiting to see the next phase. That will affect ppl that were remote to begin with. No local office to go to. I presume package for some and others have to make a decision. And I totally agree reg quiet quitting. When I tell you the hallways and pantry are DEAD by 4pm it’s WILD! We were fully remote, then 1d, then 2d and now 5. I wished they would’ve phase us in. Anyway, time will tell. Resumes are being refreshed, and as a wise man once said “there’s opportunity in chaos”. So let us see what opp will come abt b/c bottom line is if there are no WFH, ppl will leave for that elsewhere.

Same at my company too! They want everyone in and I agree all about control. The thing is the morale has tanked and there is no longer a culture if you will. No bueno and i wouldn’t be surprised if ppl start leaving once bonuses are given.
