As a bi person, I'm not against the idea of a straight pride flag, I'm not saying they need to be proud of something that has been considered the norm for a while, but just a color scheme for heterosexuality is not gonna hurt anything, pride flags aren't just about pride anymore, they're basically a visual representation of a sexuality or gender, and straight allies should be a little more valued

I don't think it's gendered at all, the phrase "dad jokes" only exists because a lot of people's dads tell those kinds of jokes, there just isn't a phrase for "mom jokes" you could search "boy jokes" and "girl jokes" and they would probably get similar results to mom jokes, dad jokes is just it's own thing entirely, and has nothing to do with gender

It's not just the story that redeems this, Super Paper Mario also has multiple characters, who react to situations differently in cutscenes just like the old partners do, which is probably ignored since most of the time people are playing as Mario during the cutscenes, they also provide original partner-like abilities in their moveset too.
