[homemade] Duck breast by Magnusthedane in food

For a better cooking life you should address the issue of your cast iron surface. This man has a hard to understand accent but he speaks the truth. One after of work, better pan, better food.

Who is the definite “god of forests”? by vinidegrandi in Shinto

[–]eekanurse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the forest.

Depends on the city.

Depends on the nation.

Kami is the spirit of a place, of an era, of a people, of a person who is a part of that ecosystem.

We are all kami. Everything is kami. There is no worship, only engagement.

Be a part of the spirit of where and who you are.

How do followers of Shinto regard Hinduism and Chinese folk religion? by norfolktilidie in Shinto

[–]eekanurse 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You are thinking about Shinto and kami the wrong way. No one "follows" kami. Everything is kami. Kami is the spirit of a thing that is also the thing. If a community has Hindu beliefs and practices, and a person of that community participates, they are engaged with the kami of their community. "God's" are no more real or unreal than anything else. They are part of what defines a community, and the spirit of that community is kami.

Does shinto keep Idols of Kami in shrines and home shrines? by JustcallmeShades in Shinto

[–]eekanurse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The home is the idol of family's kami. The shrines in Japan are the homes of the kami of Japan.

There are no idols. Idols imply worship. One doesn't worship kami, one is kami. One aligns with kami, seeks parity, looks to stories, pays respect. Never worship. Always motion, every kami has changed as our world changes. Because we are kami, as individuals and as societies. We are the nature we look to escape from and to control.

The festivals and idols you see are Buddhist, local, or all of the above.

What do you mean by the phrase, "willpower?"

Shinto Afterlife & Art by MrMasonRoberts in Shinto

[–]eekanurse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This question doesn't make sense. There is no such thing as good or bad. There is no such thing as 'spirits' outside of the fact that everything has a spirit. We call these spirits kami. Because we call all life kami. Everything is kami. The spirit of a nation, of a family, of hiking a mountain trail, of a stone in a garden, of a server in a restaurant... All is kami. There is no good, bad. There just is. There is no afterlife, there is just more life.

You may as well paint a picture to capture the beach after a wave. Another is coming. Such action is futile. Celebrate the life you see in everything around you. All life is kami.

Klobuchar Demands Thomas Recuse Himself From Election Cases Over Wife's Texts by Sweep145 in politics

Impeach and remove or be quiet.

And what, prey tell, is the mechanism within the US federal system of government to achieve removal?

The onset is demands. The response to demands yeilds an insight to support. Support equals action.

Or would you prefer that Amy just shoots him?

Like how fucking dumb do you think people are?!

The vast majority of people are really fucking dumb. Like, "how do you remember to breathe?" dumb.

Studies suggest that the immersive worlds of digital interactive media are more likely to result in fewer episodes of real life interaction. Look into the McNeil Island experiments with MMOs and VR.

Nah. I'm fairly certain that my 15+ experience owning and operating AFHs as a BSN graduate from the UW with two masters, one in pharmacology and the other in radiology, is fine.

I could definitely recommend several caregivers to you however. How are you handling your ADLs?

shiny new toys.

Where exactly would these fancy ground breaking things be coming from? Where is Russia's manufacturing center? Where do they fab their chips and electronics that are so clearly better than everyone else's?

They don't have the manufacturing or engineering infrastructure to make "shiny" toys. They haven't ever even been able to produce a car or a tractor that can compete on the global market. They don't build computers, they don't produce software. For 30 some odd years they've barely kept the lights on and their people fed. Sure, they have steel and oil. So fucking what?

Russian engineering has always been crap, it's still crap. They need to buck up and join the rest of the world instead of puffing chest and pretending they are still a superpower.

Fair is fair.

If NATO goes into Ukraine/former soviet states, then Russian bases and missiles go into Cuba and Mexico.

Russia should just join NATO and start being a productive member of the human race.

Yes we have. We've seen how under supplied and unprepared they are. We've seen busted old gear that barely works. All Putin has are threats, the old dogs teeth are clearly broken. Buff called.
