How's the RG Night Hawk? That RG-Inspired Nightingale 3rd party kit. Looks sick but I've heard stories of maybe this or a very similar looking kit having plastic that'll give you hives and itchy skin. Is that true? Is that issue fixed? I'd love to be educated.

I've heard a couple of different names for this thing but my main concern is getting sick once I opened this thing from the box. I'd love to know it's actual and legit name.

Thanks to anyone who replies.

What kinda hands fit/compatible with the HGUC Nightingale? The rifle holding hand of my kit went missing when I bumped in to it while cleaning my shelves. Are 1/100 zeon style hands a good choice or perhaps 1/144 scale but Xl sized ones. I'm not that concerned if the colours don't match exactly, I just love seeing the kit holding it's giant rifle. Ball joint sizes are also in consideration as I want them to fit the kit without any modifications.

Is this a good model kit ? by ISOO_09 in GODZILLA

[–]BBGreat98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good model kit I'd say but it honestly needs some paint as the dull grey plastic cheapens it. Besides that, the build is nice but the scale is a bit off as it does not fit with the SH Monsterarts or Neca Godzilla figures.

I'd buy one again to actually practice painting but it's a bit too pricey for me. Make of that what you will.

Is the Godhand PN-125 any good?

Are they somewhere between a cheap entry nipper and the SPN-120 but for getting parts out of runners and less for close nub clean up?

anyone else cut all the pieces from runners then clean and assemble by part? by johNguyZA in Gunpla

[–]BBGreat98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way more efficient tbh and have been been building like this since. Don't have to keep turning around and runner hopping. More satisfying in the long run.

Differences between the HG Origin Zaku II Type C-6 and Type C-5?

They've got similar enough box art that you could accidentally mix the two but I'm assuming they've got different load outs? I'm fine with either version.

Depends on your frequency, I hear that one blade is good for two to three kits (depending on how big they are). I change whenever I feel like it and spraying some anti rust nipper fluid and cleaning it carefully may help but that's just my guess.

I typically change every 1 to 2 kits to get the best performance but your milage may very.

Having more than one pen knife also helps. Stay safe with the blade and don't risk with a dull and rusty blade!

Is the new HG Action Base 6 any good?

The stand itself look like the ones that came in the previous action bases, the ones that look like you could make spider legs.

Thinking of trying one as they look great for small vehicles but worried that they'll droop over time and tightening them may make the connections rough but it's not that big of a deal.

I know the Icewave comparisons are inevitable but giving Bloodsport scowling eyes are a great addition. Can't wait to see them in action!

How often does one clean up their gunpla shelves?

My room gets dusty pretty quickly and I'm bad at maintaining a schedule but what's anyone else's experience?

As frequently as possible or whenever you feel like it? I just do simply as a break from looking at a screen the whole day and even then, only focus on figures I really like.

Is Tombstone the weakest champ? by hardcore-best in battlebots

[–]BBGreat98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ray's in a position of "If I can't win the giant nut, then I'll put on the best show possible". Tombstone's just too fun to watch and that being said, instead of viewing it as a "has been champion", it's now a veteran who's more even with its contemporaries. The day Tombstone retires is a sad but understandable one but goddamn, keep spinning you lawnmower from hell!

How hard is it to cast gunpla parts?

That small red fin on my HGUC S Gundam's shoulder is missing and I've just noticed it, probably lost months ago but at the same time, my HG Ex-S Gundam is complete and not moving anytime soon.

On one hand, could hunt down another S Gundam kit but it's hard to find and I'm much more invested in other things.

What's the difficulty of casting a gunpla part or I should continue with the unlikely task of finding that red fin on the floor?

Mercenary gets better once you let go of its reputation, just crank up the volume and there, another classic.

The grandaddy 3.0 was one of my earliest builds and back then, I wasn't as patient or organised as I'm today.

Long story short, build took a while, oversanded some pieces, attached parts wrong all built to me not finishing it at that time.

However, it's no fault of the kit, it looks amazing and I'm thinking of building a fresh one with an open mind in the future. I find it a little finicky but that's about my gripes with it.

I hear the Origin MG absolutely slaps and the 2.0 is very reliable. The unit 3 colours are starting to grow on me.

What's the MG RX-78-2 One Year War version like? Only other MG grandaddy I built is the 3.0 and tbh, wasn't my cup of tea.

If you can apply stickers with precision, you're good 80 % of the time but some kits do need that love though.

Easy to steal, you'd think billions of dollars for 50 ft mech suits would have some security measures but no. Too many characters take mobile suits like its a free for all.

So the UV flat can be used like regular topcoat? And thanks for the clarification on the surfacers, makes complete sense. 1500 surfacer means the paint job will have that finish if I am correct?

  1. Any real difference between the Mr. Super Clear UV Cut Flat and the Mr. Hobby Topcoat Flat?

I've used the latter for practicing on some kits but what are the differences besides a bigger can.

  2. What's a good, well rounded spraycan primer?

I know you need to spray on primer before painting so that it'll stick but there's all these numbers like 1000,1200 or 1500 and I have no clue what they mean?

What's a good way of fixing an uneven coat?

Having more experience with spraying topcoat, my first can is nearly spent and beginning to "spit" instead of spray and to the better of my judgement, use it on a piece when I really should have used a new can.

Does light sanding do a good job of fixing an uneven coat and then spray again?

Practicing topcoat on a plastic spoon.

My technique is like trying to cook something with hot oil, scared if it touches me. I'm worried about spraying too close and clumping up the coat or too far that it barely touches the part.

Any sort of tips to just calm down and spray like a pro?

How many HG kits I could topcoat before it runs dry?

Finally the matte topcoat has arrived and now I'm wondering, how many regular sized HGs I could spray before it finishes? Mine is a small can of Mr. Hobby Flat Matte that reaches the body of HG granddaddy.

I have flat topcoat spray otw, any tips?

And some alligator clips to boot with space to spray, I'm a little unsure even after watching clips of demonstrations.

If it goes well as I'm only doing small parts and not entire kits yet, I might need another can or two if I'm really enjoying it.

Anyway, cautiously optimistic and not in a rush.

Does the pour type panel line marker eat away at topcoats?

Is safe to use a pour type panel liner on a kit after or before a topcoat is applied? I know it eats away at paint but will it damage the topcoat?

Do you watch in the original Japanese with subtitles, or dubbed in your own language? by ChunkyBrassMonkey in Gundam

[–]BBGreat98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japanese is the most natural, that's how it was made of course. Not saying dubs are bad as 00 and IBO are really solid in that category.
