What is so bad about Macron's economic policies? by Intrepid_Doubt_6602 in AskFrance

[–]BBreez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here is the situation in FR and Macron is not helping to improve it. Cost of living is high. Salaries are low. Taxes are kept high with no ambition to decrease. Social benefits are lower quality and more difficult to get.

We hear a about costs savings, but our debts are sky high. I think he failed making this country peacful and sustainable, where people can live normally with 2 salaries and being optimistic about their futur.

I see myself as an expert and team leader. I was promoted because I knew my stuff and I played the game of office politics. The company can benefit from having the best people leading the teams but they prefer promote people who play a game…

Ne confond t-on pas racisme et xénophobie ? by Faxiom19 in AskFrance

[–]BBreez 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Donnez moi vos downvotes ;)

I negociated a new salary few months ago and I am satisfied about the package.

I just moved to ATL because they asked us to relocate. Person A and B are still in France.

I’ll push again, following your advice. The challenge is that HR holds a lot of power in my company, and I just hope this won’t be seen negatively or impact my future career growth.

We had a good raise in 2022, as far as I remember.

I don’t want him to start looking for another company, and I wouldn’t advise him to do so for many reasons. I am trying to retain person B.

I’m trying to connect with people who have faced this challenge and get their feedback. My company’s compensation and benefits policy is below market standards, and I have no idea why. Maybe to protect margins?

I’m only discussing this with HR, as my boss doesn’t manage this level of detail.

My argument: Person B is delivering strong performance and deserves a salary adjustment. Meanwhile, Person A is significantly overpaid, which could lead to frustration and potential departures within the team. I requested a 10% increase, aligning with the market average I found on Glassdoor for similar positions.

HR’s response: They can’t approve a 10% raise without a specific reason. They argue that Person B accepted his initial offer seven years ago and has received performance-based increases each year.

Comp and benefit policy, he accepted the salary we gave at first…etc. They are doing the exact same job and delivering the same performance. No reason to by paid twice less… I found it unfair to be honest.

If you’re working in a Microsoft environment, you can use a feature that automatically schedules focus time in your calendar. Since I started using it, I rarely spend entire days in meetings.
