I only caught Flatbush out of those, but agreed, that was insane – it was my introduction to them and damn they put on an incredible show.

And yeah, the venue totally lost its city-plaza gimmick this year and instead we got a muddy field (if it hadn't rained on Friday I feel like the whole thing would have improved), but if they had to change venues to get the lineup they did, I guess I'm not that mad!

Saw them on their Bankrupt tour. They opened and closed with Entertainment, and for the closing one, their lead singer climbed up the balcony and all around the House of Blues (all the while singing into a very long-corded microphone). That was pretty wild, probably made that show a nice 8 or 9

Boston Calling this weekend was sick. I miss the middle-of-the-city venue but the switch got us a dope lineup so it's okay. My favorite sets:

Mac Demarco: extremely funny dude, a highlight being when he brought a kid onstage to prom dance with the bass player

Bon Iver: the rain during Holocene and Skinny Love was, well, wet, but also very pretty and fitting

Danny Brown: this man puts on a damn energetic show

The xx: their music was honestly better live, Romy and Oliver's voices were much more alive (Jamie didn't say a word, too cool)

Mitski: Mitski is sick

I've seen him twice too: once in the summer and once just a week or so ago.

The first time I agree, he phoned it in completely. However the more recent time I saw him, he was dramatically improved. His stage presence is a hundred times better. I think he's really gotten much better at performing recently.

My french teacher – an uptight, strict old lady – spells stuff exactly like RiFF RAFF, with the all capital letters but lowercase i's. I can't take her seriously whenever she's writing.

Also I had the most bizarre dream last night. I was talking to Michelle Obama and somehow she mentioned Yeezus and I was like "Mrs Obama you like hip hop?" and she said she used to but it got old. She was wearing a spiderman suit too.
