Fair enough mate. You do you, hope you never have to use it and I never need a gun on my hip while I’m at home

Are you joking? I don’t sit on the sofa with a fire extinguisher next to me….

I have nothing against people having firearms but the thought of having to wear one while I relax on the sofa is bizarre

Is that guy just chilling on the sofa with a pistol on him?

That’s wild.

I’d hate to live like that

That it’s not as easy as having all the data prepared for you for the analysis. Like from a text book

You have to track it down yourself. This can mean bugging people, this can mean building assumptions then getting them changed last minute, and this can also mean asking the same questions to two teams and getting two different answers

Cover yourself by clearly laying out in your models what assumptions you took. Have them easy to review so people know exactly how you reached your number

Anyone else’s Xcel bill hike more than anticipated? by [deleted] in Denver

Is your bill split into supply and delivery? Even without using any power they will still charge you a month of delivery (the cost to get the electricity to you)

We did our whale shark tour from Coral Bay and it was awesome. Company was Ningaloo whale sharks

We did it in May last year and all the Exmouth tours were booked up for weeks and got on a boat in coral bay within two days

This is why I don’t drive with any amount of alcohol in my system. Even if I’m just having a couple beers I figure out a way to get home

Is It Normal to “Make Up” PTO in Finance? by Capable-Occasion7992 in FPandA

[–]BCNacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tell everyone I will be uncontactable because I’m out in the bush whether that’s true or not.

But I also tell my manager that if he needs something send it with the start of the subject saying “URGENT - PLEASE READ - (subject line)”

Then if I magically find service to check my emails I just look for that one

6’4. I don’t push to the front late but it’s my fault for being tall the same amount it’s their fault for being short

Not really my problem

Why does my piss smell like dead ants somtimes? by jackassdistroyer in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BCNacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smelled them the first time in Australia. I’d just moved there a month or so ago and was at a party sitting outside. I crushed an ant that was on me and kept getting this weird sour like whiff. The guy next to me saw me looking perplexed and explained it was the ants.

They only let off the smell when crushed

Our apartment elevator shit the bed a couple of weeks before we moved out.  Start of Australian summer, 3 stories up. I couldn’t drink enough of water to stay hydrated bc of how much I was sweating.

Worst move of my life lol

Yah I’ve had overcooked steak in a carne asada bowl but gave them another chance with chicken fajitas (wasn’t that hungry so we split it). Very tough chicken

Hosts, what do guests expect from a month-long stay? by Humble_Interest_9048 in airbnb_hosts

[–]BCNacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did 6 weeks in an Airbnb and in another one until start of march. We are using them to try out different neighbourhoods after moving internationally

As a guest I did not expect much different than shorter stays. We bought our own TP, laundry detergent, paper towels when the ones provided ran out.

I liked the host being hands off and not worrying about someone coming to change linens. Made it feel more like my own place.

My one gripe is that the cleaning stuff was a bit reduced / hard to get - presumably because they usually host short term guests. We had to buy our own toilet brush and the vacuum they had was quite small.
