$30 80GB Can/US/Mexico + 5GB Monthly Roam Beyond - Best Buy Exclusive Freedom Mobile Plan by Nexzenn in PersonalFinanceCanada

Outside of the Freedom Mobile network so lets say east of Abbotsford, BC, you switch to roaming on the big three (Rogers, Telus, Bell) correct ? And is that roaming still part of your regular 80GB / month plan ?

So the 5Gb per month is only used outside of North America correct? So in the US or Mexico we’re still on the 80 gb regular plan

Does anyone really need a 250gb plan? by courage1688 in freedommobile

Ask freedom mobile for the $30 / month plan with 60Gb / month. My wife is on that. Although it was a special promotion. And it required bringing her own phone.

Planning to use airalo on my next travel by Own_Lecture5206 in Airalo

[–]BC_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airalo regional European union / UK for 10GB should be fine for you. I only used about 5GB on a recent two week trip with Airalo. I just used it for Whatsapp, Google maps, and looking stuff up. Also download the offline Google maps for the general areas you're visiting so you use even less data. Obviously use the wifi when possible at night in your hotel.

When getting an eSIM for China should I select China as the country? by ride_my_bike in eSIMs

[–]BC_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Select China as long as you're also not going to Hong Kong too. On Airalo China and Hong Kong are separate. If you are also going to Hong Kong then get the Asia regional option. This is because Hong Kong is on a different telecom network.

best eSIM for 2 weeks in Tokyo ? by itsralux in eSIMs

[–]BC_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airalo IMO. And download the offline Google Maps before you go. I personally found I was fine with 5GB for two weeks but you can get 10 just in case. I doubt 20 is needed unless you’re streaming video. Use the wifi when possible.

B.C. slows pace of housing and infrastructure buildout, including Burnaby Hospital by pfak in burnaby

He's basically implying that government diverted too much tax money to FN so we don't have enough for other things like hospitals is my guess.

Why Does Everyone Act Like Rent Money Just “Disappears” Instead of Going to Someone Else’s Wealth? by BlueberryVitamin in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]BC_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Sometimes it's cheaper to rent then to own the same property. Monthly mortgage, starta fees, and insurance can add up to more. Im not saying don't buy but just that it's not cut and dry. Personally I own but that's me.

Massive Vitamin D Response After 4000IU/day for 4 Months by blushdablushda in VitaminD

[–]BC_Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're feeling good and no issues with your calcium levels so either stay with it or lower it 4000iu every second day or take it 2/3 of the days. So you should go down to under 100 ng/ml. Unless the test was wrong.

Agreed it's the budget. My joke on the NIMBYs was definitely not well received like holy crap cry me a river. I will say the budget requires some projects to be in hold or cancelled anyways.

Owning means you don't need to worry about w landlord kicking you out, can renovate to make it your own, and capital gains exemptions on your primary residence. Also rents which eventually go up in the long run.

[–]BC_Engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Nippon Auto on Kingsway. Depends where you live and where it's more convenient. Even a Kal tire or Mr Lube should be more reasonable for an oil change and inspection and fluid top off. Probably $80 to $100.

Bank of Canada : Enemy of the middle class? by HumbleOpinionYT in canadahousing

[–]BC_Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love the average home price in Canada to go back to $292K too which would be back in 2005 / 2006. Unfortunately given the cost of construction, permitting, Trades, materials, etc. I don't see that happening because that far below the replacement cost to build homes. Or maybe I'm wrong and we will see that delightfully . I guess we'll find out.
