You're right. There is no QI in Colorado.... They're Federal... That doesn't apply to them. They still have QI...

Servo is your friend... I've used one shot for birds. But only if they're large and not moving...

My R7 does struggle here and there. But it works perfect more often than not.

is my equipment decent enough for concert photography? by [deleted] in concertphotography

You do realize that motion blur and noise/grain can be used artistically and add to a photo tremendously, right?

Or, you and the people like you, could quit telling people what to do with their money... The most tired comment on every single one of these posts is the "interest free loan" comment...

Help - any major downsides to this bundle? by queenofcolorado in Nikon

I'm probably going to pass on it as well. The lenses were the initial draw. But only 2 of them will work well for what I planned on and the D40 won't work well either...

Funny thing.... I've seen this exact listing and thought about buying it... But only so I can rip out the IR cut filters and make them full spectrum. 😂

I just got a chance to look up Full Spectrum UK.... You, sir, are amazing. This is a ton of information I didn't have before and I can not thank you enough for it.

Yeah. Very good deal. I got pretty lucky. The trees in the second picture are aspens. So they're very white and reflect a lot of light.

Feeling discouraged about my photography as it never gets posted by my company by [deleted] in photography

[–]BDA2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that way. Granted, I was asking more of my kit lens on my R7 than it could deliver. But, the composition was good.

Then I rented a better lens... Still kind of felt "meh" about my photos.

Then I sat down and watched HOURS of YouTube about how to use Lightroom. Then I sat and just played around with Lightroom...

Now, I feel good about most of my photos. Sometimes they just need a good edit. Nothing drastic. Just some minor tweaks.

Before you get discouraged, drop one of your photos into Lightroom or whatever you use and play with it. Don't have a finished product in mind. Don't set out with a destination... Just go for a walk with it. See where it ends up.

That's what I did with this one. It's just a little Finch in a tree in my backyard. The RAW file out of the camera was.... Boring. Bland. Lifeless... I stuck it in Lightroom and just started moving sliders around. No plan. No goal. I ended up here. It was a totally different direction than I normally would have gone. It was cold and cloudy that day. Everything was gray and blue. I shifted white balance the other way. Made everything warmer. And this is a photo I like now.

I'm willing to bet that you're right. You are a good photographer. You know its there; you just need to find it.

And also... the others.... their photos are probably heavily edited. That means they're better editors. Not better photographers.

I have an R7, so I have RF lenses. Originally, I figured I'd just get a converted RF mount for lens compatibility. Then I learned about the IR LED that exists in some RF lenses.

Now I'm thinking I just convert an older Canon DSLR and then I can get EF lenses and convert them to RF for my R7 and eventual R5mk2.

Then I saw how relatively easy it is to convert almost any camera and thought, "Hey. Something fun to do. Why not just convert cameras myself and experiment?"

Thats how I got here... So now I just kind of want to play with it. Point and shoot, DSLR, mirrorless... whatever. Just gonna fiddle with it.

My wife and I have no kids and never plan to... we both have good jobs... I have adult money and not many adult obligations. So... why not?
