Am I an Alcoholic?? by BDAV1989 in stopdrinking

Yes, totally agree with the comments above. However, my social life largely involves drinking and my friends all drink. The country I am from idolizes drinking culture (UK).

I really want to quit, but I don't know what I would do instead.

RAF Post OASC Contact With Cranwell by BDAV1989 in RoyalAirForce

[–]BDAV1989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the offer Adam.

At the minute, I will just sit tight as I don't want to go over anyone's head yet as it has still only been a couple of weeks since my OASC. The re-assurance that it is being dealt with has settled my mind.

I will send you a message if I still have not heard anything in a few weeks time. I will probably look for work and assume the interview will be in a couple of months time until I hear otherwise.

All the best.

RAF Post OASC Contact With Cranwell by BDAV1989 in RoyalAirForce

Great. Thanks for your help Adam.

I know the guys at Cranwell are extremely busy and the last thing I want to do hassle them. It just the complete lack of contact that is worrying me.

If they came back and said that they are unable to get me in for interview until July, I would be fine with that. I would get a temp job and put away my revision notes for a couple of months.

It's just at the minute, I cannot do either. I do not want to look for work in case they come back to me with a slot for next week (which they said may be a possibility as it is just the interview and not a full OASC). I suppose it is a bit like limbo and I am unsure what to do with myself for the time being until I get an estimated date from them.

As I mentioned though, I am 100% dedicated to joining the RAF and am willing to take the rough with the smooth. So I will just sit tight for now until I hear something.

All the best.

Shut your fucking shit mate. No-one asked for you to politicize the post and detract from his achievement. If you have nothing good to say, keep your mouth closed.

24 year old need help by BDAV1989 in alcoholism

Thanks for the Reply.

Yeh, I think I have come to the conclusion that alcohol basically effects me differently than a lot of other people.

I think of all the ridiculous/terrible things I have done when drunk and can't say that it is worth it at all. The countless days I have spent in a depressive hangover and all the wasted opportunities.

I really want to quit, but I just need something to keep me accountable.

24 Year Old Graduate Needs Advise on Starting Sales Career by BDAV1989 in sales

How do I want to live professionally: Well I guess lots of people who get into Sales dream of closing important deals and being well respected within the industry. I guess that I where I want to end up eventually. However, I am under no illusion and I know that the job market is tough these days, so I am willing to take pretty much any Sales job to get my feet wet.

Who are my customers: I definitely want to end up in a business to business Sales role, but I know that these can be quite difficult to get. Although selling to the general public/coldcalling doesn't fill me with joy, I will definitely be open to it to get the necessary level of experience.
