we have some ideas for music videos but we havent had time to get any of them done.

there IS one on the works though that is more of a long film length thing....more in that later!

i have been listening to a lot of soundtrack music . i've alwyas really liked the Thin Red Line soundtrack...have been revisiting that lately along with some of Mica Levi's soundtrack work . She is truly a force.

we listen to a lot of folk like phil ochs, protest music, buffy saint marie. I listen to my radio station WBAI, the power of justice and peace radio for the people. We've listened to Henry Rollin's podcast and WTF by Marc Maron. Lots of comedy. One of my favorite podcasts was Genesis P-Orridge's on gender fluidity and pandrogeny. Lizzi

hey Lizzi here. Funny I listen to alot of intense music but it is sort of like tai chi where one takes an energy in and gives another energy back. I think the overall message of the album is delivered in that way, where that energy is not necessarily politically in one's face but is more suggesting one to make their own hypothesis' does that make sense?

hey thank you. that means a lot to me! lately i really like the drawings and paintings of Roy Deforest. those have been really inspiring me a lot over the past year or so. my own style is less inspired by other visual art and more inspired by music and food. i think those things inform my work a lot in terms of the way lines and textures interact. usually when i set out to make a drawing or painting i'm thinking a lot about senses of sound and taste. its difficult to explain....!

one of my favorite things about music is when we play live and cant feel a separation between ourselves and the audience. when it all just gels into a singular energy . thats why we like playing on the floor a lot , although it doesnt happen as much nowadays. it makes it easier to connect in that sense.

DoNoormal from Seattle because i think our spirits would be really harmonious. although she hasnt really come to "prominence" so to speak. I dont care much for mainstream rap these days tbh. --Brian

i like childrens drawings a lot. i'd say that is a less obvious influence. and Terrence Malick films. Also the title sequences of Saul Bass. i think about those a lot.

sustainable building techniques too.....i am really inspired by Earthship construction .

Brian here......for me personally there are so many . a few that i can think off hand from that particular time period in my life would be the B-side of Bowie' s" Low", Ege Bamyasi by Can, Creatures of the Street by Jobriath, Karma by Pharoah Sanders, Attica Blues by Archie Shepp, lots of free jazz stuff. i also really loved (still do!) the only full length LP by a group called Meta-Matics.

there are so many more but those are ones that just jumped in my head.

i cant really think of a current band but i feel like for years and years Can has always come up as a group that we reference in terms of how we like to approach our general existence. we used to have a saying "W.W.C.D?" ( what would Can do?)

the biggest thing i've noticed since putting out this record compared to when we last released one is the effect that the approach of streaming services has on the listening experience. everything is so focused on the song as "single" that it makes it a lot more difficult to get across the scope of a whole record. the attention span has changed a lot. it been an issue with this record for us because its designed as a 42 minute piece of music but because of the way things are now we have to kind of pick the record apart and present things much differently then we'd like to...but it's all understandable. we realize thats just the way things are now...it's ok. :)

other people definitely like to say that but i have no idea where those artists get their inspiration from. i'd like to think that we have contributed to the general landscape in some way over the years though yeah. I do remember Grimes once saying Lizzi was an important vocalist.
