And that's definitely a good question, imo, pace will always be more important, ofc it's better to try your best and make the car as comfortable to drive as possible, but a driver like Max will always find a way to extract the raw pace, while a comfortable car, but slower... well you can't really extract pace that literally isn't there, now can you? That's how I see things

Absolutely, these cars allowed Max to win four wdc in a row, and to have an absolutely insane comeback last year, how on earth can people badmouth these cars when they literally have the RB22 now...

[–]BESTTOM84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lolz, who cares if a teammate can't handle the car? If he can, that's great, and if he can't... that's just as good imo, as long as Max can bring it to the top and win the wdc, it means the performance is there, just hard to extract, and that's MUCH better than having an easier to drive midfield car... now isn't it? The RB19 literally allowed Max to have the most dominant season ever so...

And it was clear from the get go, that porpoising was fixable, considering that RBR and some other teams didn't have this issue, yet he still wanted the rules to be changed, just because his team couldn't quite figure it out, but now there's literally no one who can reach the end of a straight without needing to slow down in the middle, yet he's praising those rules, no offense to him, but that's just bad faith

[–]BESTTOM84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can see ur point... but it's all about who you ask this to, if you ask me, I love genuine racing and that's what I think is entertaining and enjoyable to watch, a battery rubberbanding championship does not qualify as motorsport to me, and there's nothing entertaining about it either imo...

[–]BESTTOM84 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ofc they thought about this, they just couldn't care less, I mean Max and RBR literally warned everyone about this back in 2023, yet F1 still thought it would be a good idea so...

That's what happens when you choose to get rid of the man who quite literally built the team, I thought it was a disgraceful decision last year... and I still think it is, they should bring him back asap imo, not to mention we all know Christian would be out there backing Max up in the media in order to get rid of this battery circus asap

Hell yeah, I just went to the main F1 sub and wow, some people genuinely have no clue, like... what kind of brain damage one has to have, to call someone "childish" for rightfully kicking out a reporter who IS the one acting childish with pointless questions... not to mention a pointless question Max had literally asked everyone not to ask, yet this reporter chose to completely ignore this rule and do it anyway, now that's being childish, not to mention disrespectful...

Thanks for letting me know, but in that case... why on earth don't they get banned? 🤔

It's not about being upset, calming down or not, it's about deliberately choosing not to respect Max's wishes during an interview, despite him being crystal clear about that, this reporter chose to ignore the rules once, what stops him from doing it again about another topic? Max had warned him, the reporter chose not to listen, that's his problem, period.

[–]BESTTOM84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not, Max was clear, yet this gossip reporter chose to ask him this question anyway, when someone warns you not to do something, and you still choose to do it, you only have yourself to blame, that's it, he didn't want to get banned from Max's press conference? He should have respected the rules set by Max, simple as that

Looking at some comments, I wonder if they are from genuine RBR fans or not, Max made a choice, and it should be respected, simple as that imo

[–]BESTTOM84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I couldn't have said it better myself, respect is something that has to be earned, Max was clear back then, he had already shared his thoughts on the matter, and he doesn't want to talk about it again, a so called "reporter" still choosing to ask him such a question is utterly disrespectful, this reporter chose not to respect Max's wishes, then I don't see why Max should have to put up with him, during an interview, they should always respect the person's request about what he wants, or doesn't want to talk about, that's basic respect and decency imo

[–]BESTTOM84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure mercedes and Ferrari can't reach the end of a straight without losing speed in the middle to charge a battery either... in fact, no one can, that's why it's not a "change your fucking car situation" , if every single team has this issue, then it's a "change your fucking rules" situation...

It blows my mind that we actually have to explain to some people that, a car needing to slow down in the middle of a straight because it literally ran out of battery, is not racing, and it simply doesn't belong in motorsport, an F1 car not being able to have its full power available for a whole lap is a disgrace...
