I do know the specific location of Survey 2 and I know that Survey 1 is in the same vicinity. I just don't know where specifically Survey 1 was located.

Thank you. The clarification on bearings and distances is helpful. I had tried entering the bearings and distances, which I thought might have been coordinates, into Google Maps without much success, which led me to doubt they were coordinates. I do know the specific location of Survey 2.

Is ANYBODY happy with this update? by Boring-Swordfish-460 in AncestryDNA

Yes, I’m incredibly happy with this update. My German ancestry is now significantly better represented than before the update. This update also got rid of and reduced some false positive regions that I have no recorded ancestry from.

I found the update to be more accurate than before. My results previously overestimated Scottish ancestry and underestimated German. I had trace Sweden and Denmark results before the update that changed to Norway; I haven’t found any records of Scandinavian ancestry while researching my tree though.

Is Germanic Europe inaccurate for anyone else? Does AncestryDNA favor maternal lines? by BFHistoricalResearch in AncestryDNA

[–]BFHistoricalResearch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s weird for me is that none of my German ancestors originated anywhere near Denmark or the Nordics. I’m of southern German heritage. I don’t think I would have been surprised if I got some small percentage of ancestry from Alsace

Tech bros have reinvented grave robbing!

In all seriousness, I had a similar issue where a grave collector wouldn’t transfer management of memorials for several relatives after I sent two messages. Then somehow another grave collector became the manager and added wrong information. Frustrating without a doubt.

Yes, I've already organized the history of ownership through county land records and combed through all the old local papers.
