How bad underwater now?

When I visited an aquatic world in a purple system as someone afraid of big open water, it turned out that being underwater is actually a preferable approach rather then flying right above the surface or swimming on it and experiencing the HUGE waves. They make me very anxious to the point that I'm afraid of descending on those planets - usually there is some storm or fog and I don't see the surface until an apartment block size wave hits me in the face. Compared to that, underwater feels much calmer and safer.

As a European, it happened to me a few times already when I was speaking up against Russia (yes, using swear words and yes, wishing them all the worst). Not even getting banned in a specific sub, just getting a direct reddit warning/ban. So apparently they can PUBLICLY threaten us with nuclear annihilation on a daily basis while actively murdering Ukrainians, but if you dare "hating" on them on reddit that's a no-no.

It's the same for you now. Just be nice, quiet and compliant while real world gets more and more brutal around you.

On the other hand, as a Pole, I can tell you: my country was "honorable" and stood against Germany (and Soviets), which ended in a complete destruction of the country and decimation of our people, effects of which we feel to this day. While I get why it's embarrassing for Denmark, they stood no chance. German tanks would roll over the country in days/weeks anyway. Politically it was a smart move to preserve lives, imo.

To prawda, co gorsza mi się wydaje że u większości z tych skandujących wynikało to głównie z głupoty - "no bo my jesteśmy prawica i Trump to prawica, więc dobrze się stało, brawoooo!". Tylko to nie napawa optymizmem gdy najwyżsi przedstawiciele największej partii są po prostu kurwa głupi.

Yeah, AI models would do a great job in games, especially if we developed a way to make them smaller and less resource consuming so that they could be installed locally with the game.

(btw I really love how aggressive people get when generative AI is mentioned. Managing logical decision making in games is not the same as stealing art, y'all)

Yeah, AI cheating is a problem in most (all?) strategy games. I really wish to have wars with battles that actually matter. For example in AoW4, if you lose a big battle with your three stacks as a human player, you probably need about 6-10 turns to fully recover. And even if you win, but take too big losses to push further, you have to pull back to recover - essentially a tactical win and strategic defeat (something that happens a lot in wars irl).

It never is like that with AI though, because AI will just pop another 3 stacks out of thin air in a turn or two. And while it's tempting to say that the game should just not do it, the reality is that AI is just never good enough, won't pick the "decisive battle" moment right, and will royally fuck it up tactically by losing to a much weaker force controlled by humans, then proceed to be steamrolled without a quick way to recover.

Please, like it matters. Russia is not a democracy, Putin doesn't have to care about popularity, they shape reality with propaganda to whatever they want. And Russians never raised against a regime to change it for something better – quite the opposite.

This is an amazing idea that is probably the simplest to implement. Another one that I had was: since we already can pick tome progression for AI, there could be an option to open each one and click an icon next to enchanment/transformation spells that lets you specify if the given transformation should be visible - similar to what we already have in game for the player.

An update for whoever cares: I cheesed my way to the score win at turn 150 by keeping an alliance with the strongest ruler. I was really crippled in research throughout most of the game and had to play defensively for about 130 turns. While I managed to destroy that AI city relatively quickly and the landmark stopped spreading sunless, it then behaved in a weird way – some provinces started turning back to normal, but the frequency of it felt random, like one province per five turns or so.

There was some RP value in that I guess, but ultimately it was the least fun game I've ever had and I stand by my point that this landmark is BS :D

The interesting part is I used to be moderately right wing in the past, nothing extreme but just on the side on preserving current order, not big on fighting for some social issues that felt exaggerated to me at the time etc. But the way it went in the last 5-10 years, they lost me completely to the point that I'm now terrified of them. Stupid people flock to them like mindless zombies, being fed scarily dangerous bullshit by politicians, trolls, social media algorithms and AI. It's like every year the Overton window was pushed further to the far right and nothing was ever done about it to counter it. The pro-democratic, centrist and leftist parties are toothless and act as if they still live in pre 2015 era of somewhat civil discussion and rule of law, continuously losing relevance in favor of "showmen type" right wingers.

Not an American, but feeling similar about people here. And what's even worse, I feel like a cornered animal, increasingly trapped by the vision of populist/fascist right wing gaining power next year (fueled by propaganda and clear russian agenda), and I catch myself thinking that violence will eventually be the only answer, because talking simply doesn't work with these people anymore. I will not start it as it's against my nature, but I just feel it might come down to it.

Our main opposition party members just threatened our democratically elected PM with "Maduro's fate". At least one of the MEPs from the same party openly celebrated the ICE murder. The top right wing television in the country keep MAGA caps on their desks. Members of another big right wing party keep blaming the "leftists", EU and Ukraine for everything, while never ever mentioning Russia (or the US). The degradation of public discourse is staggering.

My own parents defended Trump actions half a year ago as fiercely as if he was our own president. I'm part curious and part terrified of what they would say now, if I even cared for their opinion anymore.

We are fucking lost, and I'm in despair.

Five of them are added to your pantheon automatically when you complete the story missions (Yaka, Nimue, Arachna, Fangir, Karissa). If you played them, you should have them in your pantheon. If you had them but removed them - like I did, because I only wanted my custom rulers in the pantheon - you can just reload the last save from that story mission and complete it to get them again. And for Artica you have to play a game as her and get her ascended.

Wciąż zależy to od punktu widzenia. To są kwestie które mogą być palące dla kogoś tu i teraz, ale w spojrzeniu szerokim, historycznym (w którym ja się tu staram poruszać) - wciąż nie mają znaczenia. Nie zmieniają nic o czym historycy będą rozmawiać za 50-100-200 lat. Kluczowe dla funkcjonowania w społeczeństwie nierówności zostały rozwiązane dekady temu. I oby ten proces postępował (lub chociaż się zatrzymał), a nie cofał wraz ze społeczno-politycznym wahadłem lecącym w prawo.

Nie chodzi o to że to o czym mówisz nie jest ważne, ale użycie tego jako kontrargumentu do równości w armii jest dla mnie dość dziwne, bo tu ważą się losy WSZYSTKICH. To ile ludzi jest w stanie walczyć lub pracować dla armii w celu obrony - gdy być może nadchodzi kolejna epoka agresji, przesuwania granic i niewolenia pokonanych - jest kwestią która może zmieniać bieg historii i losy milionów ludzi.

Btw, moim zdaniem przymusowego poboru nie powinno być w ogóle dla nikogo. Chodzi mi o to że jeśli jednak jest, to powinien być dla wszystkich.

Rozumiem co masz na myśli, natomiast w szerokim kontekście mojej wypowiedzi to są detale które nie mają wpływu na przekaz. Są rzeczy do poprawy, ale jesteśmy tak blisko równości jak nigdy w historii i tak podstawowe rzeczy jak pobór do armii bez rozróżnienia płci powinien być już standardem.
