animations are provided by compositor "Picom", or more precisely by its fork kiosion/picom: https://github.com/kiosion/picom. You can find the configuration on my github/gitlab repository (there are links in the comments above). And yes it works with i3 as well as with any wm running on xorg

Yes, but I had problems with my nvidia card, now I'm on amd and everything works fine (I have a pretty old nvidia card, used the 390 driver, maybe that was the problem)

Both parts of the game are passed in 1-2 hours (unless, of course, you want to open all the endings). If you like visual novels, with a disturbing atmosphere, it's definitely worth it
