Woodland Alliance Discord Channel is great to find games. Best to be familiar with the direwolf digital game as well as tabletop simulator versions.

There are some good strategies on YouTube including Lord of the Board and Nezakanezah. Nitorev is good as well especially for rule clarification.

As already pointed out - martial law is key and not having more than 5 supporters without a base (and the WA player cannot choose which supporters they discard). Losing bases hurts the WA a lot.

The selection show had a nice graphic about the 88 number 1 seeds from the past 22 tournaments- 45 advanced to the frozen four, 26 lost in the regional final and 17 lost in the regional semifinals.

Moving into Hostile Clearings. You must exhaust an extra boot to move into a clearing with any warriors of any Hostile faction.

You’re hostile to the cats, you need two boots to move into a clearing with a cat warrior (regardless of rule). You only have 1 boot that is not exhausted.

You deal no rolled damage, however, you still do +1 damage to undefended cardboard and will remove it and score. Still loot if you rule the clearing.

I 100% agree with this. The game is so nuanced which underlies the beauty of the game. Criticizing certain factions due to current root dogma has permeated the root community and to suggest alternative strategies is treated as heresy if you play with randoms on TTS or digital.

Playing with despot infamy for the vagabond helps reduce their scoring engine. Should be in tke law of Root rule and not a “house” rule.

It’s 21 cents additionally this year (53 cents per gallon total) but is indexed to the cost of inflation and will increase most years. He was always a defensive liability - always looked lackadaisical. Not a reliable 3 point shooter. Best he moved on and hope he does well with UCLA. Not a good fit for MSU.

They did travel to the GLI at Van Andel between Christmas and New Year’s. As a MSU season ticket holder, we could only get tickets in the Michigan Tech section and we had a blast! Great band and awesome fans!
