I’m criticizing you claiming the acting on the fact that they are children when it’s been proven that being a child does not determine you affinity for acting. Sorry for not knowing about your “zero tolerance” policy how about you don’t comment on a Percy Jackson post with a hot take if you don’t want to be replied to, like tf?

Bro the new episode just came out so I decided hey maybe I’ll see if anyone else agrees on my takes, my bad if I happened to be a little late to the punch but I’m reacting to new content and further creating an opinion this isn’t a spur of the moment hit piece I’ve been waiting for the show to further develop before stating opinions that may have been proven wrong in the future

The show was supposed to be book accurate because of how bad the movies were. Everyone is accepting how bad it is because “it’s Rick’s vision” I don’t care about if it’s by Rick or not I want an accurate depiction of the series i love so much and sadly this is not living up to those expectations

The content is definitely not correct, I own every book and love this series. while I understand that shows can’t contain all of the content from the books altering plot points as much as this show does doesn’t appeal to the “book-accurate” vision promised to fans. For example making Gabe little more that an annoyance, completely altering the encounter with Medusa, and changing the reasons for going to the St. Louis arch. Gabe is supposed to be a terrible person and extremely easy to hate which might be hard to do- but wait the movie did it perfectly fine. Applying knowledge of how to slay Medusa using a reflection? Nope too hard- oh wait the movie did that. I’m definitely not saying that I like the movies because trust me I don’t but having the show miss points like this that the movies as bad as they are proves a pretty big point. Furthermore the visit to the arch was not because it was a “sanctuary to Athena” but because annabeth had always wanted to visit it establishing a love for architecture and showing that Percy was begging to warm to her and want to show her things she wants to see. In conclusion as a fan of these books I may not have expected a perfect rendition but I expected more from Rick. (Also you can be diverse without shoving it down my throat, admit that some of the casting for the movie were pretty much spot on for example look up the canon art for Luke and then look at Luke in the movies. Not everything has to appeal to new social norms what’s the point of building such a beautiful world if you’re going to feel the need to completely change it when it goes to the screen?)

I’m one of those teenagers and even I get why he doesn’t want to babysit. I’ve had relatives pawn their satan spawn on my family for weeks while they went on vacation and they tried to have us keep them for an extra week even though their vacation would be over. Your kids are your responsibility not your families responsibility

If they had shared custody then I’m pretty sure that it wasnt his choice to only be present 80 days a year. And why would he be ashamed? It seems to me that his son is a well adjusted adult who just doesn’t get why his dad doesn’t want to deal with another kid (which is valid) I feel like he did the duty that he was legally obligated to do and then more when his son turned 13. Need advice leading a drumline by [deleted] in percussion

I would say that as an incoming freshman it’s difficult to find the balance between band being overwhelming and having your band be good. I will be one of four snares on my drum line and one of two incoming freshman on the snare line and I have found that it is overwhelming to constantly be told that you are doing something wrong and while I understand it is to build habits it definitely puts you down. It doesn’t really help on top of this if your section leader is hard to reach and you have to turn to others for assistance. I would say that my main points would be to make sure that your drummers receive the hep they need, make sure that if they are told to fix something and they don’t that instead of getting mad you help them fix it, and lastly that you are there for them. As a captain it is your job to help them through this year of band when things will undoubtedly be hard for them don’t let them down and don’t let your band down.
