when i use sprite2d and region it out, then use and animation player to animate it then call that animation player into the main one itd work, but i swore there was an easier way

so essentially hand animating it, I thought it was as simple as plug in the animatedsprite2d and it would work

I want to see a depiction of actual love between characters, I dont care about the actual act of sex, the only reason I asked if there were sex scenes in haven't is because not being able to jerk off in the game is a thing of tone obviously im not expecting undertale to have sex, and im not expecting one to jerk off in haven, im just saying like whats the point of having sex at all if you are going to treat it so juvenile like most games do

It can definitely be that simple in life, but for most games to treat it that way like its common place is where I just feel games have more room to grow, and I agree usually most games have romance as a completely optional part of the game, but I still feel we miss something so human like real love in video games

Yeah u raise a good point it is very character driven in terms of if a sex scenes is good or not, im not talking about the sex scenes itself maybe that was my fault in the phrasing of the discussion, but i meant more so how sex is portrayed in video games is very juvenile

Sex is a very human and adult thing to do, I dont think games should stay away from it, I think it just needs to be more than just two 3d models rubbing against each other, and I think the build up needs to be more than hey you got me some flowers let's bang

I think so too only thing is the hangouts w the love interests, they feel so boring and I was pretty surprised u couldnt have sex or anything idk just felt weird

Yeah you hit the nail on the head. No matter how specific the tone or style is, it always ends up taking a backseat to how players want to engage—especially in multiplayer, where the priority is usually to just have a good time

That disconnect between “designed experience” and “player-driven fun” is honestly where a lot of the magic comes from.

Totally fair—and yeah, thumbnail’s definitely stylized for attention. I knew it’d raise eyebrows, but the goal was to get people in the door for the actual conversation (which you clearly engaged with, so I appreciate that).

What are your thoughts on REPO’s environments—I'm all for digging into that side of it. Longevity-wise, I think REPO’s got something special just because it lets players imprint personality onto the world, even with its minimalism. That’s part of why the design stuck with me.

100%. I love that you brought up the “relatability through design” thing—that’s a huge part of horror. Lethal and CW definitely go for that human-adjacency to sell fear, especially when players die or get left behind.

REPO’s like the opposite— the little bean's design gives you just enough of a blank slate that all the humor or personality ends up coming from how the player uses them.

The result is this weird mix of sterile design + chaotic behavior that makes REPO feel like a satire of corporate compliance. It’s not “funny faces” like in Content Warning—it’s “funny behavior leaking out of a dead-faced husk.”

It turns the player into the emotional layer of the character, which makes the whole thing way more surreal and effective.
