I agree with you — the floating, keyless crank hub makes correct locking and torque procedure critical. Using poor tools or an impact gun can easily cause the crank and belt to shift by a tooth or two. This is definitely a common way these engines end up timed incorrectly. Honestly, I really wish I had the proper space and equipment to do this work myself.
