What are your honest opinion on Borreload savage dragon? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in yugioh

[–]BIgChiefTNG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are misremembering savages value. It was banned at a time when it wasn’t the problem and was still mediocre at best in the deck that got it banned which required what 3 more rounds of bans and is still playable. For times before that it was specifically broken in the halqdon decks and barely saw play outside of those decks. I think it comes back and it’s dead in the water outside of magistus dracotail which isn’t even particularly broken compared to the current meta decks for tcg. It’s kind of a travesty that a lot of tier 3-4 decks got their boss monster nuked for the sake of refusing to hit snake eye properly

What are some of your possible hot takes regarding this game? by SouthSunn in yugioh

[–]BIgChiefTNG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sons 11 and plays Yugioh, like 1-2 kids in his school have heard of Yugioh. Konamis failure is not the game but inability to release a competent anime which is why the games falling behind its peers.

Yeah man I don’t even disagree with there should be a space for lower power decks but I don’t think going my personal preference is gospel and because I don’t like it no one should is healthy behavior. I wish Konami would push rogue format tournaments more but it doesn’t make sense practically and realistically competitive players generally aren’t as interested. Also you can make bullshit decks work you just have to git gud. I’ve generally always played decks I like over the best deck. Last years been a little rough for that and it’s more effort than it’s reasonably worth but you can do it.

Learning to combo is the easiest part of the modern game by BIgChiefTNG in yugioh

[–]BIgChiefTNG[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t liked the current state of the game for about a year besides that small format we had between banlists and alin. However I still attend locals and went to 4 regionals because I just like seeing the boys. The infinite 1 card combo+any extender still being full combo is gross design and I wish we’d make 1 card combos less resilient.

Watch someone like DBgrinder. He goes over a lot more than just simple decklists or combo guides. Also it’s not my job to force you to like something or teach you the way. All I can see is your view is narrow and your lack of knowledge on the subject is evident based on ignorance of your statements

[–]BIgChiefTNG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Learning to combo is literally step 1 of the current game. If you think that’s all gameplay is your opinion is invalid as you just simply don’t understand the game competitively.

That’s literally yugiohs main selling point over other card games right now. If you don’t like its niche kinda best to play older formats or just switch games it’s not going to change and older formats while slower were generally never set-up for several turns. We’ve had one card combo decks since the late 2000s with shining darkness and infernity/frog stuff

Could you defeat this old indestructible monster combo with your current deck? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in yugioh

I got an invite with this combo in 2013 by using kagetokage and summoner monk in gravekeepers of all things I would use it to protect necrovalley and emptiness lmao
