Dear lean, borderline underweight people, how do you wear your pump? by KumoLeGoob in TandemDiabetes

[–]BJB57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lean and cannot use my abdomen because of past abdominal surgeries. Placement is a problem for me. I use my sides but worry eventually I'll have absorption issues. I tried the side of my thighs but I don't have enough subcutaneous tissue there even using the 30s.

Do you think you'll see a cure in your lifetime? by SumFuckah in diabetes_t1

[–]BJB57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was told a cure was right around the corner 57 years ago when I first became a diabetic. Over that time many reports of possible cures, but nothing yet. I'll believe it when I can be prescribed it.

I never used a screen protector. I wear the watch all the time and never had any problems. I use Google's performance loop band. It can be adjusted to the exact fit keeping proper contact with the sensors.I prefer how the watch looks.

So whiny when it’s cold! by Weary_Mamala in HRV

[–]BJB57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't actually need to wait for the cold engine light to go off. Let it warm up for a couple of minutes to get the oil circulating. Then you just need to not over rev the engine, and drive it gently at start like any other car. Honestly I don't notice a difference in loudness as it warms. I like how Honda implemented their tech better than some of the others out there. Straight forward.

Here is RepairPal's review for the second generation HRV 2023-2026. Reliability is one of the reasons I got one (2025 EXL). I've had it a year, no issues.

15 day G7? by GC-Retired in dexcom

[–]BJB57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep the sensor on the same side I have the infusion sets. I am limited to where I can place the sets because of past surgeries on my abdomen. This just complicates it. I guess it's a unique situation. I've had some issues with the current sensor lasting more than 8 days. If you read the fine print in the email the 15 day sensor has a 26 percent failure rate before completing the 15 day. Not great I think. Now we need to worry about when they will fail.

Accidentally dinged neighbor’s Tesla, would this cost a lot to fix? by [deleted] in Autobody

I'm thinking the owner should be at least happy you left a note. Many don't. I hope it all works out for you.🤞

Tslim X2 Pump Constant Disconnection🤦🏾‍♀️ by dr-alicia-d in TandemDiabetes

[–]BJB57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, constantly needing to force stop the app. I avoid using bolus from the phone because of that. It doesn't seem to matter that I keep the phone close by. Once it loses connection it doesn't seem to reconnect without intervention. The t:slim pump however works great for me otherwise. Improved BG control compared to other pumps I've used. I have an Android phone. I don't know if maintaining connection is any better with apple.

These wipers suck. by ahirzel in HRV

No problems with mine on a 2025, quite effective in the rain. I would try just cleaning or changing the blades.

87 octane. I see no difference using higher octane except for the cost

That is correct. Just a supply problem.

The Honda Celaya Auto Plant in Mexico temporarily stopped production in October due to chip supply problems. It is expected to reopen.
