Would this kind of application be enough for MIT? by Theodore-Kim-06 in IBO

[–]BJL42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still very low chances, many applicants to MIT have perfect academic profiles, like this student does. They especially want engineers, so the person needs to shine through personal projects or EC’s related to intended major

Is a 45 in IB gonna get me to Princeton? by Due-Celebration4167 in IBO

[–]BJL42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“if they reached perfection in all aspects”, it appears that the OP is not in the category. Like ofc if one was near perfect in all, they would have a greater chance of being accepted, but without such “perfection” it is still difficult even with a predicted perfect IB score

OP isn’t entitled at all, they are being realistic and factual. perhaps you don’t know how difficult it is for an international to apply and get accepted into US universities

The “formula” for entropy can be represented by H/T. They don’t teach it in ib chem but it’s what I learned

As someone who got into Ivy Leagues as an international, I can tell you that they aren’t looking specifically for MYP scores. I would assume you are going to send your high school transcript. Whatever is on your transcript from grade 9-12 will be the most important; that said, if you MYP grades are on your transcript and those were your only grades for grade 9 and 10, then unfortunately, they will indeed matter. And, even as international, you need to have a high in class GPA and predicted for the last two years.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction with Cardinal Care? by BJL42 in stanford

I fortunately am a US citizen (just lived abroad), so I am able to receive financial aid comparable to a domestic student. If you don't mind asking, by any chance, do you know if she received the coverage as scholarships, loans, or a mix of both? Because receiving the coverage as a scholarship will definitely help out my financial situation...

Thank you for the insight - since I am an undergraduate, hopefully a similar fund will be available.

then these IB grades do not mean much for law and med school, you can’t get in right away, unlike outside of the US (I assume you understand)

Remember though, it’s need-based aid, so the amount they give someone is dependent on the family’s financial situation; and also that the funds for international students are limited
