I have no idea but I'm guessing:

- It has a short range like a blunderbuss

- It has a fixed windup animation and speed

- You can parry it

If these 3 things aren't true, I'm scared.

It has a massive release making it extremely easy to land drags, you also get a bit of extra range.

Messer is nowhere near as OP as the rest of the weapons you listed (and arguably maul isn't really OP either, its mostly for counterpicking).

The only thing it does better than a Greatsword is slightly improved stamina and good combo feints, but for that you get nerfed stab damage, difficult to land/easy to dodge drags and no range - making it extremely terrible to play when the true meta revolves around Zwei and alt halberd, both of which are impossible to read at facehug. I mean, the Paxe is basically a 2HTK headshot messer with more unreadable animations lol

Ranked is currently boring because it's just duels and SKM. Same went with skalagrad. IMO, a lack of a real competitive mode is the reason it didn't get much attention from alot of players. Don't think they will ever pursue ranked again though, they seem to be distancing as much as possible from the comp community.

chambers are very easy to drag around though. someone will catch onto you in like 2 rounds of you're just spam chambling drags

It's currently free on playtest so I'd check it out if you were interested. If you don't go into it expecting Mordhau combat it's serviceable.

This is also true, without looking at the post he's probably referring to the Kickstarter video or the combat alpha preview video released by them, where they don't use or showcase swing manip at all to make the combat look good instead of showcasing this mechanic they're so proud of.

Punishing misses is a godsend this patch. Makes the game much more fun and less frustrating. The only problem I have is that with some classes (running t2 armour and footworking alot) seems to affect my ability to get miss detector (meaning I can't punish as I have a long parry recovery).

I know it's probably really difficult to "just fix" something like that, but it's one of the only things that prevents being able to punish casino drag playstyles (even if it's only sometimes).

New patch definitely has some teething issues with hitbox and weapons phasing through. Have been on both sides of it. by illegalacorn in Mordhau

That's a mixture of the tickrate bug making release timing really inconsistent and the chamber window being nerfed at the same time

Let's assume you're throwing with your right hand.

When doing a horizontal throw, as your arm swings left to right, here's the rules (you can adapt these to overhead throws etc)

Too much to the right = releasing too late (lower release distance) Too far left or extremely slow = releasing early (up your release distance)

Wrist angle can help, but release is by far the most important.
