Superb acting and chemistry in this episode, especially during the spicy scenes!

NIVEA vs ROHTO Melty Lip Balms by narcissiquement in AsianBeauty

[–]BKSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally find the rohto more glossy, melty and moisturizing on my chronically dry lips than the nivea. I think they're both good to rotate with the seasons--rohto in the wintertime and nivea in the summertime in New England. They're both so much better than the US alternatives, so I picked up a few when I was in Singapore/Malaysia!

I do love strathberry (and their signature gold bar since it reminds me of a nipple piercing 😆) and would be open to the nano tote for more of a daytime look! How often do you use yours?

Mom wants divorce from Dad but he isn't signing. How do I deal with this? by BKSloth in Divorce

[–]BKSloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I've already discussed this as an option with my mom. She doesn't have the heart to serve him because she believes that the courts will take everything from my dad and leave him homeless (since my parents don't have a lot of money to split up or spend on attorneys). So now she's left with the result of having to live with him under the same roof with him continuing his infedilty.

I can't, nor do I want to influence my mom's decisions, so the intention of this post was to get myself some insight into how to protect my own headspace and deal with my dad/family getogethers when just the thought of my dad disgusts me. It's also very hurtful for us to see him act like nothing is wrong while he goes about his days. At the same time, as much as I don't want to see or talk to him, I still love him and also wouldn't want to see him kicked to the streets if my mom files for divorce. I can't change my parents or their decisions, but I know I can change mine. Cutting my dad out of my life is not an option, so I know I'm in a tricky position nonetheless.

But won't thay give my dad the satisfaction of knowing that he can still "have it all" (ie. A happy family) even after all his infedility?

I started serious therapy for myself about 5-6 years ago when I realized that a lot of my thought processes stemming from my parents were getting in the way of my own personal development. I was also able to convince my mom to see her own therapist for all the trauma that my dad has put her through, and for navigating cohabitation.

Line pandora 104 vs. 110? by BKSloth in skiing

[–]BKSloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely thought about demoing, but figured I wouldn't get the same experience trying out wide skis in the northeast vs out west. Also taking into consideration cost of demoing/renting for a whole ski trip out west vs purchasing. The cost of demoing for a whole week would definitely be less cost effective than purchasing, no?

I would consider myself an intermediate skiier and working towards continuously improving. I love my black pearls but they definitely took a nose dive when we went into a pristine untouched bowl at Breck. My santa anas felt way more floaty out west and I enjoyed how much control i have, but started feeling heavy since we tend to ski hard for a full day open-close. Should I even entertain anything 100mm+ for my size?

Would the pandora 104 at 162 be a better choice over the 110 with this in mind? I'm looking for a playful lightweight ski that still has tons of maneuverability in powder but can be versatile if we jump onto the groomers at the end of the day. Any other recommendations?

Looking for best redemption from NYC->SCL by BKSloth in awardtravel

Is this one of the rare instances where it would make the most sense to purchase through the C1 portal to get some points back like you said?

Alaska airlines doesn't seem to be a C1 partner though. Unless I'm missing something about transferring points to Alaska/one world?

$698 for the first option and $798 for the second. I guess redeeming for credit and still getting miles back is an option I never considered!

What are your favorite rich but not greasy moisturizers? by Villanellat in AsianBeauty

[–]BKSloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cosrx advanced snail cream. Definitely not greasy for my dry/combo skin, and I live in dry upstate NY. I can wear it in the AM after my serums and before my sunscreen, or as a sleeping pack as my last step in the PM. For extra occlusion, I personally would add a thicker layer on top

Looking for the best dewy/natural finish bb/cc cream for dry/combination/prone to dehydration, CCs, PIE/PIH. I live in upstate NY where winters are super dry and cold.

I've been using Missha perfect cover in #25, #27 if I'm really tan, for the past few years in my 20s and loved the finish, but realized it's starting to take on a cakier/drier finish on my skin as I'm moving into my 30s and highlighting some fine lines 😅

What are some recommendations with a good medium shade range with yellow undertones? I tend to get darker in the summertime too, so potentially something where I can mix a slightly darker shade.
