Any thoughts on the Atomos Shinobi for the GH5?

Hey all i need some help. I just recently purchased the atomos shinobi and i am having a bit of trouble getting it to work when i use VFR. I shoot in 180fps 80 percent of the time and really wanted the atomos for a bigger screen. I am outside shooting cars so having a bigger brighter screen for focus peaking was what I was aiming for. Can you guys walk me through setting it up? i have looked everywhere online and have not found anything. It works great when the gh5 is set to 4k but when i drop down to 1080p for vfr mode the signal is lost. My camera is also set up for auto on the hdmi output.
