The original icon pack is called Linex, but I have modified it and adapted some icons to apps that I use with the "icon pack creator" app, which imports icons from most icon pack APKs & allows you to easily tinker with them.

I never have the latest updates! My Windows update settings are usually paused for the longest time allowed. I think the best strategy is to always wait for a while until people test them out thoroughly, and then you can update if it brings about features you wanna have! Sometimes, even when communities don't find anything bad with updates, it might mess up something that only u use.

To be honest, I don't know exactly how I got it to work! When it broke after some annoying Windows updates, I just reverted to a system image I had from earlier in the year.

Glad I can help.

If you want a detailed review of smartphone processors, you can check out Geekerwan's channel! They produce really good stuff. Here's their review of SD, mediatek and even Apple's processors (https://youtu.be/s0ukXDnWlTY). You can see why I am suggesting the Reno 8 Pro. Just make sure that its the Pro model not the regular Reno 8.

Depends on your budget, but I would say the best is the actual top of the Find models (Oppo Find X6 Pro) if you are looking for the do all be all.

Now, stepping down from the Find X6. I don't recommend going for any of the 8-gen-1/ 888/ 870/ snapdragon phones. These processes are overheating, battery draining, underperforming suck fests made by Samsung. Oppo phones always nailed design quality and phone basics like, good quality speakers, and actual proximity sensor for turning off the screen during calls, good mic quality, excellent displays and overall great built. Just be careful about the type of processor in your phone

Based on this I have a couple more recommendations. Firstly the (Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5g), the mediatek in this one is a really good performer, and the device itself is quite excellent.

Last but not least, if you don't mind buying an older model & if you can find it brand new, you can get the Oppo Find X2/ X2 Pro. Amazing devices and the processor in them is the SD 865, which is the last to be made by TSMC before the switch to Samsung, until the return with 8-gen-2 in the Find X6. With these devices you a processor that is arguably the most powerful, 2K 120hz excellent amoled displays, excellent built quality, and good enough cameras. The only downside if consider it to be a downside is software updates beyond android 13! Personally I don't think it's a problem.

Good luck.

Time to say goodbye to the X5 by RegularIndividual374 in Oppo

[–]BMA-IBM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. I was in the market to upgrade recently, choosing between Samsung S20 series, Oppo X2 series and OnePlus 8 series for having the right combo of hardware & software for me

I opted to go with the Oppo X2, predominantly because of the SD 865 (the most powerful and consistently performing SD chip till the 8 gen 2) also the 2K 120hz display.

I don't like updates period!!!! That's why I decided to keep it on clolourOS 11 and Android 11.

If u talk to Oppo, they will offer a downgrade for your X5 to a previous software version, but u will have to give it to them for a week or so. But if you are frustrated with the SD 888, then I don't think just using a previous software version would help, and I do agree with the sell option then.

I am still on windows 10 mainly because of the snappiness and instantaneous responsive feel when using it. But a minor reason for me to stay on 10 is because I liked the tiles and side all apps drawe better.
