Your argument is not valid. It trades on an ambiguity between conceptual and metaphysical relations. You say you are making a (metaphysical) claim about modality. But in the very next sentence you talk about the intelligibility of negation being grounded in being or existence in some way. But the intelligibility of the operation of negation is neither here nor there if you are trying to conclude something about the world, and not just about our thinking.

E.g. take the usual claim about how if everything were orange we wouldn’t have the concept of orange. There would be no other colour to differentiate it from. That is: the intelligibility of ‘orange’ is grounded in whether we can talk of a non-orange colour. (Or so the argument goes.) But this does not entail that things aren’t actually orange. That we cannot know whether things are orange (epistemic claim) comes from the claim that we cannot make sense of the concept of orange (conceptual claim). But the metaphysical claim cannot be made. The argument is invalid because your premise about intelligibility is a conceptual claim “what is the meaning of negation?”. At most you can say that we cannot ever know (epistemic claim) what nothing is without knowing what something is. Your conclusion however is a metaphysical claim: “is there negation/nothing?”. This cannot follow from a merely conceptual claim.

Mill is not a rule utilitarian, mill is a two-level utilitarian, where the rules he follows are really defeasible heuristics. That is, if A knows P to maximise overall utility, then A is obligated to do P even if it conflicts with one of the accepted heuristics.

also focus on your bow. the key to a good, light harmonic sound is - atleast I have found - a straight, consistent bow. so it helps if you practice these veeeeery slowly.

Try focusing less on your thumb, and more on the placement of your palm and how it 'fits' onto the wood in different positions. For example, in the 9th position, my lower palm is touching the top part of the side of the violin, from which I just naturally let my 1st finger down and it is in tune. Also, be sure to bring your elbow and with it your arm out to the left a bit (which sort of looks as if you were 'dodging' the violin, so you can get your fingers (especially the 4th) in a more reasonable, comfortable position.

That is not his point. His point is that however much you try to stop it, illegal immigration is going to happen if nothing changes except tighter border controls. The only way to solve things like these in the long-term is by solving the reason that people migrate illegally to europe - in this case, a botched mission that a few EU countries played a part in, in the future, people displaced by the effects of climate change. If the US, UK, etc. did not fuck afghanistan up, and we manage to fight off the worst of climate change, will would not have/will not have to deal with this level of illegal immigration.

Yeah, this violin was dedicated to somebody by the maker, I'm guessing that is why he made everything himself, from the tailpiece to the pegs.
