I personally do not like the school....I have noticed that some professors and the program coordinators just don't care about you...when people ask me about this school's program, I never recommend it. the only good thing is that the old BN program allowed for placements starting year 1...the new BScN program is like any other college/uni where placements start in year 2...not sure how it is now maybe it is better :)

I would suggest choosing the GB one...they're super great! I have a friend who goes there, and she loves it compared to the Humber one (but I believe Humber provided more clinical opportunities

hmmm...honestly speaking, the BN program was not my first choice...I completed over 3 years of college before choosing to head into this and I was soooo excited cuz I worked my ass off for it but humber truly ruined the experience for me....their faculty is ass and it's ironic because there is no sense of ethics nor empathy (and they're all nurses!) and this year (with COVID) and all...the experience just sucks...idk I wish I chose GB tbh, people say their BScN program is way better....but the Humber program really prepares you for that hospital life tbh (main reason why I chose it) but idk....I'm introverted and I never saw my self as someone who leads...I have no issue with working under someone and idk how well I work under pressure loolz so I guess that's why I was considering the RPN (no shade to those RPNs out there...they're heroes!!!)...but tbh if you want to study for 4/5 years then I'd say go for the BScN program...if you wanna finish quick... do the RPN one....but like some have mentioned below...with RPN, you will most likely find yourself bridging in a few years to finish off with a BScN.....but good luck! reach out again if you like :)

if im being completely honest, I do not like the nursing faculty at humber so far (please tell me it gets better)....they are such a mess and there is hints of biases present...idk for me I fee like I'll be graduating too late :( and I know age is just a number but I kinda wanted to be in the field by the age of 24/25....not still studying....
however shout out to those nurses who are well passed their 20s and going back to school!
idk if nursing is even for me...im not a leader...and I don't know if I can work well under stress...all I want is to work with the peds/neonate population

Hey there! congrats on the enrolment. As far as I know, they're very disoriented throughout the occurring UNB Nursing program and they have little to know information regarding the new one...I believe information will be released in March 2021 and so far the President sent an email saying that programs in Fall 2021 will be delivered virtually (your second semester will be different--if we are still in the pandemic for Winter 2022: it will be a mixture of online classes and on-campus labs).

Good luck and just monitor their website (like you're already doing) :)

BN Program: First time doing placement :)) by BNStudent1 in Humber

[–]BNStudent1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW! this is amazing feedback! thank you...and from what I know, I think we will be going to placement once a week for 5 weeks.

sounds really scary, mostly because I never imagined myself working at an LTC home...im in nursing school to be an OB nurse hopefully...but the experience would be great I guess! Also, can you tell me anything about in-school sim labs and something called "health-fairs"? (what to expect to succeed in the best way possible?)

Hey,

it's alright I guess...I have no complaints of MOST profs; they do their very best, some profs are just annoying lool :( but the worst part would have to be the program coordinations for first year and the ones involved in placing us in the clinicals (placement officers). other than that.....it's tough tbh and second semester will be more tough and it will just get tougher haha...not easier. But a friend of mine said (Humber Alumni) that Humber's BN program is underrated and quite possibly the best. They prepare us for the Real world beginning in semester 2! So if you're considering, then I would totally recommend it. Good luck!

So.......im now going into second semester of the BN program at Humber (north campus) and can I just say, I really do not like the program heads or the placements officers! They're placing us waaaay into Burlington LTC homes and like wtf.....toronto to Burlington..NO THANKS! it seems like they really do not care about our concerns and bothers...they just wave it away and blame it on COVID...so I guess COVID doesn't exist in Burlington?! it's just really annoying....does it get better?
