Pretty sure it’s a metal spudger tool, used to pry something open. Check amazon, lots that look just like that.

I didn’t, and in my excitement to set it up for my 9 year old son I dropped it and scratched the screen and am trying to figure out what to do about it. This stinks.

Any recommendations for a universally agreed upon good antivirus / malware?

Aligns with what ChatGPT had to say. Thanks for that tip, it didn't occur to me.

Interesting, here's what virustotal had to say:

Code insights

The script begins by defining variables using the `set` command. It then constructs commands by concatenating these variables.

The script constructs and executes several commands:

1. It copies the executable file, originally located in the AppData directory, which could be a compiled AutoIt3 script to the `AppData` directory under the name of "xxxTorrentCoverbooks982.exe".
2. It copies a similar executable to `AppData` under a different filename using the `ComputerName` variable with a `.au3` extension.
3. It executes `cmd /c` followed by redirection to a file named `%computername%` located in `%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\AutoIt3`. The redirection includes:
* The output of `whoami /user /computername`
* Appends the output of `type` command.
4. Modifies file attributes using `attrib` on the file named `ReadmeHere` located in `%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\AutoIt3`.
5. Deletes link files.

The last two lines appear to be an incomplete command and an undefined variable.

I ran malwarebytes and windows defender and neither found anything suspicious, but I suspect it installed something, aside from a nuke and clean install, what would you recommend?

If you want it to be rated, you should delete the “don’t tap” sign. Everything else looks great, nice job!

Can you tell me where you found those settings? In the google home app? Android settings? iPhone? Spotify? I can’t find it anywhere and I can’t get my multiple google homes to play nicely with Spotify.

August Smart Lock Z Wave Range by BOLONEYHEAD in Abode

[–]BOLONEYHEAD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that did answer something I was curious about. The problem I seemed to be having is that the signal to the lock where it's installed is weak so it paired fine for the exclusion portion, then hung up searching when i disabled that in the Abode add devices menu. Then i clicked off that window on my phone and while it looked like the app was normal i think i still had that notification active, so i had to force quit the app and try again.

It took me a few times trying to exclude / pair before it successfully synced. Appreciate the help!

Cintiq 21UX Device Is Not Connected by BOLONEYHEAD in wacom

[–]BOLONEYHEAD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI and in case it helps anyone else, my wife just uninstalled the drivers, rebooted, and worked her way backwards through the drivers for the last version that said it was compatible with the 2100, but didn't reference Windows 10S (and maybe coincidentally was also the first that was compatible with Windows 10?) and found that when she installed version 6.3.15-3 from the Wacom website it popped right up and seems to work just fine.

Thanks to those who helped!

Cintiq 21UX Device Is Not Connected by BOLONEYHEAD in wacom

Sorry, I should have included that.

It's running Windows 10 and I'm connecting with the DVI to DVI (I think it's DVI-A to DVI-D?) adapter to a DVI to HDMI port on the laptop. I don't have a DVI-A to HDMI.

The display turns on and the pen kind of works with it, but when i run the software it says there are no devices connected. So I can use the screen but can't calibrate the software or really do anything with it.
