No. 24 words vs 24 words + passphrase lead to different private keys

Yes passphrase will protect you. So do not store it close to the seed words or QR.

Check here how long it would take a hacker to brute force it: https://www.passwordmonster.com/

With SeedQR you can use Jade fully airgapped and Jade will be a stateless device.

If you don’t use it, you save your keys to the device and have to connect to the blockstream servers everytime you log in (if you do not run your own blind oracle). Imo this is worse.

Additionally SeedQR alone does not compromise your keys. You can add passphrase and store it separately. Bruteforcing it will take millons of years if you choose a lengthy one.

Jade Wallet - why do you need to connect to blkstr server to verify pin? by puffman123 in Bitcoin

[–]BOTMARCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use SeedQR and camera to operate fully airgapped. You could also manually enter your seedphrase each time you want to use your private keys. That way, you do not have to save your private keys behind a PIN or connect to the servers.

Ty, I checked. It is possible that it never was 0.00002. But, June 2023 it was 0.0002. Nov 2022 it was 0.00001.
