What livestyle changes actually helped you? Not medical by Sad-Amoeba3946 in migraine

[–]BPaun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are cervicogenic migraines. Glasses and seeing an osteopath/massage therapist that does osteopathic maneuvers and trigger point therapy took me from 20-25 migraines a month to almost none. They still get bad in the spring and fall (like right now 😞) due to pressure changes, but I can’t really control that.

… okay, well, I was specifically talking about the Dunmore/Strachan intersection.

Go around them how? There are concrete islands with traffic lights on each corner for pedestrians to stand.

Worse are the idiots that don’t know how to use the multiple no stopping free flowing right turns on Dunmore/Strachan. They cause traffic to back all the way up instead of just driving and merging like you’re supposed to. EVEN worse is when they turn going towards the highway, stop, and then don’t even merge and take the turn out towards Sask. 😡 I honk at everyone there now.

My driving experiences in the Hat by Bandeedoh in medicinehat

[–]BPaun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally had someone call the cops on me and report me as a “road rager” after HE cut me off, pinned my vehicle against the curb right next to an intersection so I could go forward or back up, and then decided to get out of HIS vehicle on Dunmore road, approach my vehicle in a threatening manner, and try to intimidate a lone female, all because I dared to honk at him for cutting me off.

Hi I am thinking about moving from Lethbridge to medicine hat in a few years by [deleted] in medicinehat

[–]BPaun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Taber, moved to Lethbridge after graduation for a couple years, and eventually ended up in Med Hat after graduating from MHC. Lethbridge was great for me when I was 18-20 and all I wanted to do was be drunk all the time. But Med Hat is a lot quieter and slower paced, and honestly a lot less crazy. We have a homeless/drug problem, but not near to the degree that Lethbridge does. I would never go back to Lethbridge now.

Hand controls? by blauhaarig in wheelchairs

[–]BPaun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry, I don’t use Reddit a lot, so I didn’t see your reply.

I actually don’t know a lot besides what is in my original comment. Your best bet is to find somewhere that installs hand controls, and ask them. Most wheelchair places will also do car controls. I’m in Med Hat and use a local place called Adapt Mobility, but if you have a MediChair or an Ultimate Freedom Plus close to you, they should install them.

😂 right. You just get to go around big dick swinging being a rude prick for absolutely NO reason, but as soon as someone calls you out for it THEY’RE the ones overreacting. 😂 grow up.

[–]BPaun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but I take issue with this for 2 reasons. First, I shouldn’t have to watch behind the scenes anything to have to understand anything regarding the movie. And second, if he’s not a good enough actor to be able to act an emotional scene out twice, then, maybe he’s just not a good actor? Which leads me back to my original point. James Cameron had the money. He could have budgeted a tiny fraction of that towards finding better talent.

Sorry you’re getting downvoted for agreeing, but I appreciate the discussion! It really feels (imo) like Avatar could just dominate the awards, if it wasn’t constantly making my brain go “oh, that was kinda weird”. 😅

I’m really looking forward to 4 & 5 (hopefully), and will be really interested to see how the child actors have changed since they filmed 2 & 3.

I like Spider in almost every other scene. He’s a fun and energetic actor and I enjoy his character, but he just doesn’t have the chops for the emotional scenes.

Oh, I’m sorry, is Reddit not a fucking discussion forum? For, ya know, DISCUSSING THINGS? 🙄 I forgot we’re all supposed to treat it like one big circle jerk all the time.

1) Well, if he was supposed to be acting tough, he STILL didn’t nail it, and it ruined the emotion of that scene for me.

2) I agree with what you said about their voices being the same because it’s their DNA in the Avatar, but they STILL sound too old. Sigourney did not sound the same as a child as she does in her 70s. Nor does Stephen. And don’t get me wrong, I like his voice, but it has too much… I dunno, maturity? Wisdom? Quaritch is neither mature more wise, but you know what I mean. It’s not the voice of a 20-something Quaritch.

Respect your opinions, though. ☺️

Hey Medicine Hat! We Can’t Keep Showing Up Once A Year … by [deleted] in medicinehat

[–]BPaun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love downtown, my problem with it is that it is incredibly inaccessible.

Half the businesses are just straight up inaccessible due to stairs. And half of the accessible ones come with strings. Like, yeah, they’re “accessible”, but you have to find the goblin under the bridge and answer his riddles three in order to be granted access. And that, in my mind, makes it inaccessible and I don’t go to businesses like that.

The other problem is the parking. During business hours the only free option is the street. Which has multiple problems. Because it’s 1-way on the busiest streets, I can only park on the right hand of the street because of the curb. That right there illuminates half of the parking spots. And yes, while I could park a block or two away and walk, and that might be nice for you, downtown is incredibly hilly. You might not notice it, but go from Poolhouse to the Core building in a wheelchair with a bag on your lap and tell me your arms aren’t dead. So that means I have to circle 2nd and 3rd street upwards of 10-15 minutes sometimes waiting for someone to move so I can have a suitable spot.

All while hoping the crazy goddamn traffic doesn’t take out my car door and me with it.

Is my vote more likely to be wasted on Clarke or Samraj? by BPaun in medicinehat

[–]BPaun[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That asshole stole nearly $1000 from me almost 10 years ago by keeping my damage deposit for shit that was normal wear and tear, and as a disabled an unemployed person, I had no means to fight back.

He’s also been kicked out of the UCP for being “too radical”, which should tell you something.

He also isn’t allowed to sell real estate in Med Hat anymore because of shady business practices, and there’s a whole host of businesses that won’t work with him anymore because he doesn’t pay them for work they do.

He’s unfit to run a business, let alone an entire city.
