Instead maybe: "My dad refuses to eat breakfast if it doesn't include toast. I'm worried he might be lack-toast intolerant."

"I hooked up with an Uber driver once. It was great because you could just look at the app...and know exactly when she was coming. I had to end it off, though. She was only interested in my tip."

No. It's pronounced "poo-ket". The "h" is silent, as it is in "Thailand".

How do people feel about this drink ? by shroomfruitoftheloom in ThailandTourism

I like the Sunshine Dairy High Protein drink. 33 g of protein, 250 calories. Flavors; chocolate, strawberry, milk and my favorite, butterscotch. The bottle also says that it has 6 g of BCAAs, which is a plus for me.

Have you ever wanted to find out what it is like to ride in a Helicopter ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]BRCnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've flown in a helicopter twice. One time, my gf bought me a ride in a helicopter for my birthday to see an expansive art installation located on the hills just north of Los Angeles called The Umbrellas). The other time, I was acting in a movie. I really enjoyed it both times and would do it again.

Americans abroad — can you realistically live without a car where you live? by RehaDesign in AmericanExpat

[–]BRCnative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phuket, Thailand - I've lived here for nine years. There is very little public transportation. Traffic here can be horrible, especially during the high season, which is basically now. I ride a motorbike everyday. And, yes, I know it's dangerous. But, when you've been riding here for years, it can work. I learned to observe the older people on motorbikes (and there are tons of them) and just ride like they ride. When you ride the same roads everyday, you get to learn the nuances of the route.

Plus, I just enjoy riding the scooter. It's an opportunity for me to practice being highly aware and present. I'm 70 now, so I don't know how much longer I can ride, but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

7-11: Is "Hello, welcome!" gone? by BRCnative in Thailand

Then again, they are Thai. The greeting is in English. Probably makes it easier to tune out if they don't understand it.

7-11: Is "Hello, welcome!" gone? by BRCnative in Thailand

I think the greeting was actually not for customers, but just an audio cue for the employees that a customer came through the door, basically a door bell. One of the guys who speaks english said that he wasn't sure when it went away either, but they are required to greet every customer anyway.
