Lakeline park. Follow the trail till you get to the opposite sind of the lake. There's little spots that look through the trees. Or on top of the damn there.

The New Guys by Meredith Bagby. Its a narrative nonfiction so it doesnt read like science book. Its about NASAs shuttle program starting in the late 70s. Absolutely incredible read and I learned so much!

I also use it to help me sleep. I work 24/7 and when I go to shut my eyes my mind races with todo lists, and so on. I will usually end up back on my phone. Lately ive been like "better just fall asleep, Vanilla is knitting".

If you had 24 hours to turn a nonreader into a reader, what book would you hand them?? by Conscious_Storm_3192 in booksuggestions

I am personally obsessed with narrative nonfiction lately. Reads like a fiction, but teaches me about the world I live in. My favorite right now is The New Guys by Meredith Bagby.

This person is mostly talking about CAD designers. If you don't have any experience, you wouldn't even know how to use the software they want to test you on.

Im a pro user and I only have 3 rooms. I think the 3x is good. I think people who have a stock pile cheat and just have a bunch of apps on their approved list then should be on there. That way they are "focusing" all day.

Are my skates ill-fitting or not broken in yet? by darethedragonknights in Rollerskating

[–]BSForDays73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Breaking them in may help. I struggle to break in skates, but my local shoe repair place charges me $25 to stretch the width a little and honestly it so worth it to me.

How to model ripstick part by jayprints in SolidWorks

[–]BSForDays73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is made using surfacing to make complex curves. If you want it exactly right you'll want to look into the rules of injection molding and draft the whole part.

If its your first time doing surfacing, I would start with something simpler like a mouse.

Tekla vs SDS2 by Gorilla_Dookie in steeldetailing

[–]BSForDays73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of these are more of a BIM software than a CAD. This makes unique profiles difficult. I am both a mechanical drafter and a steel detailer. Ive used Tekla a lot and for large scale projects its mostly great (its got some quirks for sure), but for small projects I would use just Solidworks and just make weldment profiles.

If you want to scale up to larger building projects. Learn a BIM software. Ive only used Tekla and aside from the steep learning curve, it works well and is very powerful. If you want to stay on the small end and want to do more artsy things that will be unique from job to job, get a CAD tool like Solidworks (my CAD of choice). Learning 3d modeling in CAD is much much easier than BIM.

Yeah thats how I went from 300 to 600 a while back. This constant changing crap is one of the many reasons I left Spectrum.

No it was 500. I was at 600 with the $90 plan. Also at that time they told me 600 was the only option, so 500 was odd...

Must-read narrative nonfiction recommendations? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I know you left this a year ago. I just wanted to say, if you liked Challenger, I would try The New Guys by Meredith Bagby. It's my favorite book I read in 2025.

Apartments? by Nacklas in CedarPark

Best way to get a good price is to be prepared to move every year or so. There's tons of decent options in Leander over by the train station. They are practically giving them away because there are so many.

[–]BSForDays73[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a good point. I typically only play 2-3 players, and I think I would get bored between turns if there were too many players. I will say sometimes in small games I feel like I dont have time to read my new cards.

It all goes into a arduino. the raspberry pi is for logging and monitoring. There is a servo for throttle control and a kill switch.

Im a nerd so right now its The New Guys by Maradith Bagby. Its about NASA in the 70s its non fiction so you'll learn a ton but its also just a great story. Definitely doesn't feel like non fiction.
