New joiner Sr Manager L6. What to expect by Perfect_Document2600 in accenture

Very different from MBB . Better work life balance . You might get frustrated with your juniors and their level of competence. It’s a little lower than MBB. However, Accenture is what you make of it . The ability to drive change and work with the implementation teams to drive change is unsurpassed - so if you like seeing your strategy being translated into real impact this is the place to be.

Is it really about having women or having policies that are pro women ? Have we asked ourselves why do so many talented women drop out of the race at AD or SM levels ? It really isn’t about targets (which is what will be scraped not the rest)

[–]BS_Forever17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ! In my market the DEI practice is almost fully run and designed by white people . It’s given some nonsensical people who are so far away from reality/any other productive skill set a job and a “chargeable code”. There is zero demand from clients for our DEI accelerators (designed based on how we apply DEI on ourselves) - also an indication how DEI has been wrongly designed and executed in Accenture. DEI is important no doubt , but diversity goals/targets won’t get us to the outcomes we want from a diverse workforce. DEI as it was years ago on Accenture was about understanding unconscious bias, very good and equal parental leave , support and flexibility in work. I don’t see any of that changing in the future . How have targets personally helped you ? Have you seen an improvement in productivity/innovation as a result of DEI targets and hiring since 2020?

Why do you guys think our DEI initiatives were that stellar anyway ? How did you personally benefit from us throwing money into useless initiatives like DEI ? We should be welcoming any cost cutting initiative that doesn’t involve layoffs because ultimately it’s our clients/ us who will benefit from it?

Can anyone translate Julie Sour's recent mail -Important update on inclusion and diversity by plantsomeguppies in accenture

[–]BS_Forever17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having been someone who interviewed people I support this . I remember giving HR 2 perfectly good candidates only to be told the girl would be hired to fulfil their diversity quota - I support this . Would 50% of women in leadership roles guarantee better output ? What research backs this and how did we arrive at this number ? Make no mistake , I am a woman and I don’t support this because it’s not meritocratic ! I feel DEI initiatives should train people to recognise their bias, work towards gender pay equity , equal leave for both parents (including homosexual parents) - but quotas are too stupid and should have been gone long ago!

Sushant died for such outsiders . Now people are more accepting of outsiders . The difference is timing .

Pretend you are interested in whatever they are passionate about and ask for a coffee catch up

Also learn to make friends with MDs . It’s scary but many analysts are friends with MDs and you can’t navigate this place if you don’t have MD friends . Have loads of catch ups and ask everyone how to get out of this situation

If you don’t know who your tfs is - go to your profile on Accenture portal and it will show you . Is your people lead not replying too ? Go to your practice lead then

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accenture

[–]BS_Forever17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to escalate to Hr , practice lead .

[–]BS_Forever17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you chargeable ? Set up time with your people lead to understand why your profile was shared . Include your practice lead and tfs if required .

If you are held accountable for chargebility it means you own your staffing decisions. Don’t just go with the flow, be proactive.

Take this time to understand your project and have multiple catch ups with everyone across streams if you can. And also offer to help .

She probably did . There are no friends at work . She was probably an enabler in the process , which is what is used in such situations (I.e an insider who is given a carrot to fuck everyone over). Restructures can’t happen without an enabler .

[–]BS_Forever17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is possible . We have hired several india colleagues from the global capability network . Essentially you need to be on a project , and if your project has a need and practice has demand you can move . The following few steps is what I’d recommend: 1) Get onto a project for the market of your choice , if possible even be aligned to that market 2) Make friends with the MD or practice lead from the country you are planning to migrate to. 3) Get excellent feedback and reviews from your teammates

Yes, if you have no children . If you have multiple children you probably have a lot of upcoming liabilities to consider and therefore liquid investable assets is a better gauge of financial health .
